You get interest for 9 months if you only keep the account for that long..0

Unless you go into a branch, I don't think it's possible, as your signature is required. Applying online merely results in you either printing the application form (which you must sign and post), or requesting the application form to be sent by post (if you can't print it yourself).
Thanks.
I thought I'll stick with Santander as I already have online banking with them (2 yr fixed Major), so thought it would be a simple process when logged in to apply for their 2.50%.
Basically had to go through the application from fresh!
Does anyone know if I have secured that rate (despite not yet funded), or would the new rate kick in with initial deposit (which now looks like end of next week)?0 -
Thanks David780

If I'm new to the Coventry, how long would it take to get me up & running to the point where I'll be able to log in online and deposit funds?0

I opened the Poppy Isa for my daughter last night, we printed off the application form which has to be sent in with ID and they said once they received that she would get the grid card and log in details to enable her to access the account.
We have had accounts with the Coventry for ages and are very satisfied..once the accounts are up and running the security is really good...an you feel your funds are very safe.0 -
Thanks for the info katies mum.
However, having to send in ID is kind of putting me off.
Any new customers who've applied this weekend and no need to send in ID?0 -
I applied for this and once I'd filled in the details and asked for the form to be sent to me it said that it would tell me in the application letter whether I needed to send in ID or not.
I phoned up and said I didn't want to take the application further as if you do have to send ID it says it has to be certified by a Dr, Solicitor etc etc which I believe has to be paid for (unless you know someone who will do it for free!) I've gone with Nationwide instead.0 -
We have a 2012/2013 60 day ISA with the Coventry BS at a rate 3.10%.
This we feel is a good company, they are the 3rd biggest BS.
What we like is that they lock rates for a set time!!
The 60 day 3.10% is locked till the 29th of Nov - we will look for something else then!!!
We also opened a poppy ISA for 2013/2014, this rate is 2.60% again this rate is locked till the 5th of April 2014.
The way you log in with the grid card is very safe, the overall site is plain and simple to use and everything is followed up in writing within a few days.
It took approx ten mins to open and fund the poppy ISA yesterday, this we feel was very good.
It might have been so easy as we already held an ISA with them.
That's our option of course but do your own homework to make sure the account is right for you.
Hope this helps?0 -
