Just seen this for anyone interested. Coventry Building Society have a new ISA called Poppy Cash ISA at [STRIKE]2.5% variable, including 0.5% bonus[/STRIKE] [Edit: it is 2.6% including 0.6% bonus] until 5 April 2014. In fact they guarantee that rate until then. You can access funds whenever you need. No transfers in accepted though

nice find, shame about the no transfer in policy. guess if people want instant access it is worth transfering in to the santander direct isa (2.5%) and then putting new money into this poppy account (due to the rate lasting longer.
cheers for sharing!0 -
The Society will make a donation to the Poppy Appeal equal to 0.10% p.a. of all Poppy ISA balances held by account holders
Another reason to use it over the Santander account for new money! If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
If you do like it please hit the thanks button.0 -

You are correct - but I read the site yesterday and it was 2.5%. They must have increased it.
They must have done it to shoot them to the top of the best buy lists - previously, they matched Santanders account but that one also allowed transfers in.0 -
Yes it has changed! Wierd!! I remember thinking same as Santander Direct ISA Saver Iss 1 & Cheshire ISA Saver Iss 1 both of which I have.MoneyPleaseHelp wrote: »am i missing something ot is this 2.6% not 2.5%

This ISA looks appealing.
If you're a new customer to Coventry, will you be able to apply online and fund the account today?
Would any new customers like to share their experience?0 -
If anyone has used this years' (2013/2014) allowance they can still transfer this years Cash ISA to the Poppy ISA if they want to change their mind. Website says you have to contact them to do this though. These are the only allowed transfers.0

Unless you go into a branch, I don't think it's possible, as your signature is required. Applying online merely results in you either printing the application form (which you must sign and post), or requesting the application form to be sent by post (if you can't print it yourself). This ISA looks appealing.

This is probably a stupid question but the interest is paid once you have had the account for a year, what happens if I save all year and then in say Dec withdraw everything, will I get any interest for the 9 months the money was in there? Or should I not even bother putting it in an ISA?
Looking to move house later on in the year and saving for stamp duty.
Thanks so much0
