  • I have adopted 2 lovely dogs from this rescue. June and Michael rescue the dogs and cats from the streets of Cyprus. Many are pedigree. They are checked out by the vet, full vaccinated and spade. Once they are well enough to travel, June and Michael have them flown to Heathrow where the adopters or foster carers pick them up.

Home visits are carried out by volunteers in The U.K.

June and Michael are caring people and if people do not want to donate cash, there is a link on Amazon to the wish list for animal food.
  • I don't know about this particular charity/rescue so can't comment on that. Adoption fees for rescues from abroad are usually to cover transportation fees which can be really expensive. What the rescues hope for, is a loving, forever home for an animal which ordinarily would have been left to die or have no chance of finding a home in that country. The lack of animal welfare laws in certain countries is appalling and neglect, torture and mistreatment are almost a way of life. I've adopted 3 cats from Romania and 1 dog from Bulgaria. I also have 13 other cats whom were rescued in this country and I have lost count of the number of cats I've fostered in the UK for charities. Truly loving an animal knows no geographical boundaries - you can't say you love cats/dogs and then say you should only help the ones in this country!!!! The crisis with overpopulation of unwanted cats and dogs here is mainly due to back street greeders who use their animals as cash cows, let them breed and don't care a jot about their welfare!!! In other countries, they have no welfare system to turn to to treat and neuter animals and costs of living are very high but wages incredibly low. I think you are doing a great thing by adopting a rescue animal and it doesn't matter where it is from! I can recommend at least 2 for anyone wishing to enquire further - both on facebook - Kitty Connections (for cats needing UK fosterers or homes) and Ruff Beginnings (for dogs). Anyone who thinks we shouldn't be helping animals from abroad should go and spend a week in Romania and see the appalling problems with animals suffering and THEN come back and still be of the same opinion that we shouldn't help them.

The problem in Cyprus is that a lot of military personnel, when their placement in Cyprus is over, just abandon their pets instead of organising pet passports etc to bring them home.

I have heard of this charity and as far as I am aware they are legit.

The site is registered to an individual in a terraced house in Hayes. Seems a little odd...

The lack of contact information on the site would make me very suspicious. A rescue centre should have a telephone.

Hi, I am picking up my rescue dog from Heathrow today. This dog is a rescue from Cyprus from June and Michael at Cyprus Pride House. They are a genuine charity, they have a wonderful following of people who are mainly adopters and fosterers of the pets they take in. Their charges barely cover the jabs, the food, the neutering and the flight charge, but they work relentlessly for these animals and work full time. The price for my dog was 150.00 I have paid the same and more here in England. Their contact is done via email, they run on a minimum so do not have manned phones. But have home checkers in the UK who do a thorough check. Forms are filled out and sent to June and Michael in Cyprus it is a straight forward process. If for any reason a person is unhappy with their dog they have to take it back to a UK foster related directly to Cyprus Pride Homes that June and Michael arrange. I had more problems homing a dog from one of the Uk's most trusted charities. Please don't hesitate to check this site out if you are looking to home a dog or cat.
  • I want to say that this a charity I think do a great job much better than some charities here in the UK. I won't stand here and say I don't think what the RSPCA and the Cats Protection etc do are good because all animal charities do a brilliant job but some of the animal charities are the richest in the UK and that money is going to their directors rather than the animals. What June and Michael do is truly wonderful. They do all the work themselves in Cyprus such as looking after the animals and UK volunteers do their home checks and meet and greets at the airport. I know that when I am in a position to adopt another dog/cat I will most certainly be going to June and Michael. I hope that this is a charity that will continue to help the animals of Cyprus for many more years.

If you want to help cats in Cyprus there is a fabulous Trap, Neuter, Release programme run by MandrysFund. They have a facebook page.

This scheme makes very good use of donated funds to maximise longterm health of the cats by neutering them and reducing the increase in feral kittens.

Run by dedicated volunteers in the local area.

Really saddened to see a thread filling up with new posters all suddenly posting to say exactly the same thing with exactly the same use of English etc. Always a bad sign when that happens, it would never be necessary in a legit organisation. I would be very wary of this organisation.

  • After seeing this site on my facebook i got intouch with them an asked a few questions to prove thier legitamacy before i did anything to help them. I was met with abuse and threats of thier soliciter. Not a good look for a rescue.
  • i adopted my dog wander from june and michael was very straightforward i filled in the forms had a homecheck , i paid the full costs for her which was £300 flight cost and £150 adoption fee, the only bits that were not straightforward was she flew into heathrow which is the other end of the country to me and luckily a lady who was picking her dog up who lives in birminham picked my dog up as well and my son went to her house to pick her up, and the only other thing was they wern't sure how old she was as she hdad been dumped and when i asked how big she was i was only given her collar size and when she arrived she was bigger than i thought she would be, but overall she is a good dog with my cats and grandchildren
