  • Thanks Miss MM. :D

It's really nice to know that people are following the journey!

Well, we really liked the house yesterday but still haven't heard back from the agents about the offer we have put in. :( Hoping to hear back soon else I really think that the buyer for our house is going to walk away as he doesn't want to wait for us to find another house but I guess these things are sent to try us!

I spent 60p today on some milk and I'm swimming with my Mum tonight so that should mean I've only spent £5 today (which I forgot about when I said today would be a NSD :o) Tomorrow will definately be a NSD! (Can you hear the determination! :rotfl:)

Thanks again for all the support will update soon with, hopefully, news about the potential property!

  • Just heard that the buyer for ours will walk if we don't have a confirmed coimpletion date within the next 4 weeks. This isn't going to happen, even if we get the house we offered yesterday. But I'm hoping that if we can get the offer accepted then we might be able to make him wait a touch longer as there's no chain so things should move pretty quickly. Just really want to know now whether the offer has been accepted. I'm in school trying to work and I keep getting distracted by brilliant diaries here and hoping the phone will ring! Fingers crossed everyone (for actually doing some work AND the offer being accepted!)

  • :j:j:j:j:jThe offer has been accepted on the house that we want! Woohoo! :j:j:j:j:j As you cna probably tell I'm pretty chuffed!
Instructed solicitors etc. all ready to rock and roll. The only issue is the property is £5000 more than the other one we were getting. This isn't an issue as we have the spare cash BUT this was our emergency fund so we really need to start saving hard now! Could not be happier! :D:D

  • So, thought I'd post some random ramblings for today's plan!
    1. Chase the estate agents to make sure all the details have been sent to the solicitor's so that things can proceed quickly
    2. Clean the oven :( (I hate this job!)
    3. Sell my sofa (getting an even nicer one from In-laws for free so money from this can go into moving and renovation pot!)
    4. Do some marking for school
That's the plan for the day, now just to stop reading diaries and actually get on with it! :o

On another note I've been doing some maths! Once we move we'll have decimated our savings, owe family members £5000 and have a £205000 mortgage!!:eek::eek: I think I need a sit down already! The overall aim is to use this thread to really keep me focused in the hope that I can get this lot down more quickly than I think!

Congratulations on having the offer accepted, feelingfestive! Hopefully everyone will push things through quickly, though you'll probably need to do a lot of chasing and tracking where things are up to.

We've got a mortgage of over £200k too, partly because of needing to do a lot of work on it to make it habitable! And yes to keeping focused to get it down asap!

If you insist! :rotfl:It's a proper 1980 2 bed bungalow on the top of a hill with the best view in the world. It comes complete with a gated driveway (:D) a mustard coloured main bathroom and an avacado coloured ensuite. It has 1970's patterned carpets and an original kitchen completed with plastic work tops . However, it has a huge double garage (OH's dream!), a greenhouse and lots of front and back garden. It really needs remodelling inside to maximise the space and hopefully turn it into 3 beds. This will take forever though as we have maxed our budget jsut to buy the place. I'm not too worried (yet!) as it clearly has been really well looked after and so nothing is unlivable just a bit dated (as the agents described it)! I truly can't wait to move in though and have spent most of the morning chasing the solicitors to get paperwork going! :D I think they hate me already! :p

Sounds full of potential. I lived with an avocado bath suite years ago in a rented house. You'll be fine, because you know it won't stay avocado for ever. If you're not careful, you'll get so used to it that it will lose its capacity to motivate you to save up for the work!!

Good luck getting the paperwork through fast enough to keep your buyer onside. :)
