You're probably right! Despite being a teacher I still love the challenge of academic study and I also really enjoy doing something for myself. At work I flog myself for the sake of the students but with study it's for me (although it benefits the students in the long run)

Right, it is time to give myself a virtual kick up the pants! Feel free to join in!
I've had two free periods at school today and I have done nothing productive. I feel like I just can't get going on anything and I think it's because I'm trying to make a decision about the PhD! What I really need to do is get super organised with everything else so that I know I will have enough time to do the PhD as well as teaching full time. I was doing well when I posted my to do list a few weeks ago so that will be my plan of attack for the next 8 days until pay day when I can sort out the money situation again!
Today I must:- Mark 13 Controlled Assessment essays
- Clean the house
- Spend some time with the horse after work
- Fridge, cupboard and freezer audit
- Clean the house
- Sort out my washing

So a little update of the day. Done jobs = washing, marking, tidying (not cleaning yet!) and sorting the money out. I have moved some money around and found that we have £2000 towards the loan but we owe £349.90 on a credit card for my engagement ring.
Will update sig shortly but feel quite good that we have a little more disposable cash than we thought after the move. On another positive note - it's 8 days until pay day!

Due to the unexpected meeting tonight I haven't managed to get that much else done but I am looking forward to getting stuck in to my weight loss.
Should have some time tomorrow to get on with the marking and do some proper meal planning and a bit of shopping too.
Onwards!

Well done on making positive steps.
What do you use on horse for fly repellent?0 -
I make my own and it's really potent.
2-3 tsp neem oil
2-3 tsp citronella
2tbsp vinegar
1/2 pint tea brewed with 8 strong tea bags
2 crushed garlic cloves
Make up to 2 litres with water.
It stinks to high heaven but the midges and horseflies hate it! On really bad days I just stick in extra garlic.Saving to sort the house fund! 10000/20000

A really positive day today. It was my Year 11's last exam for my subject today! Phew! Glad that's done. Now concentrating on planning for next year and getting organised. Been really, really good with my food. Did a big shop and meal planned so spent £60 but I feel this will really get me going. I've also been for a lovely walk for 45 minutes.
My job now is to get some more planning done and tidy up before I chill out for a bit. A good day all round

enjoyed catching up on your diary, we have a bit in common with new houses, joining slimming world and being a bit undecided about further education - i am not sure whether to do my final year's work for my masters after summer. Did you work out how to calculate your daily interest? I usually just log on 2 days running and work it out way, but the formula is amount due x interest rate divided by 365 = daily interest.mortgage 1 33,000. paid nov 2012
. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k0 -
Hi kirstypark. Thanks for the formula. It seems quite simple but you can probably tell that I have nothing to do with numbers or maths!
My brain is not designed to work that way. How are you getting on with Slimming World? I've done 2 days now and not cheated at all! I'm quite proud as I am a notorious secret eater!
I do love the fact that we are in our new home. It's beautiful and just feels so right (until I look at the online banking :rotfl:) What is your masters in? Did you enjoy the first year? Would you regret it if you quit? For me, I'm so stubborn that once I've decided to do something then I'll see it through regardless of how hard it is! Sometimes this is a really good thing and at other times it really isn't!
Todays plan is to complete the rest of the coursework marking and I'm getting a free massage tonight from my friend who is training to be a beauty therapist! Can't wait!Saving to sort the house fund! 10000/20000
