    Wow that would hurt
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Then he went and sold the website to the highest bidder confirming that what he really wanted was not to have to pay anyone to do the job properly and make a profit off the hard work of the voluntary forum team who give there time for free.

My respect for him has personally sunk to the level that you can flush a cockroach down a toilet, not that he'd care since his no doubt loving it up with his new riches.

    Wow how bitter are you?

Good luck to him for spotting the need to have so much moneysaving advice in one place it must have been hard work, he deserves his riches - and far from not caring he's still around working for us all.

So go and start your own forum if its that easy. One you can moderate to your hearts content.

    Happy moneysaving all.

I liked how the target handled herself, but I could quite cheerfully slap all of the 'I'VE REPORTED YOU, AREN'T I GOOD? I'M AMAZING SO I MUST TELL THE WORLD!!!!1' people. Why must they tell us all that they've reported someone?

I very rarely report. When I do I say so usually. It seems sort of underhand otherwise.

Also some people press spam or just ignore, saying you have report often triggers others not sure what's to do but who feel 'affronted' to do the same. There is no need to make a judgement comment though, I regret having done that. Personally.

Finally, it offers some support to someone taking the flack without demonstrably taking sides. This is particularly useful on some occasions, where you want to report someone but do not want to suggest the opposing view point (though this did not occur here to me).

Some very good points in there.

It's not always an easy call.

If you announce that you have reported a post, that can sometimes help 'feed the troll'. Among other down sides.

If you don't announce it, you might see lots of other posts 'feeding the troll', or other down sides.

On the other hand, as you say, it may be helpful for the person 'taking the flak' to know that others think that they are being treated unfairly.

It may also help with the post mortems - as it won't be quite as easy to simply blame the person 'taking the flak'. There's evidence 'out there' that others have believed that the posts break the T&Cs - and have reported them for MSE to consider.
