the SSID is just the name of your wireless network. Believe me, the router does have an IP address.
Are there any advanced network settings available on the home cinema box?
i dont know there maybe advanced settings. i think we have probably given up with the home cinema. we are just hoping that the tv will connect ok.

So why not Virgin TV, and you could get all the catch up services you want without the need for a separate internet connection to the box.Shirley if as suggested a couple of times you asked, VM would send you a new modem/router.
virgin tv doesnt have as many channels. i know it was suggested asking virgin media for a free router but like i said i looked into it and they only give them out for free if you upgrade. otherwise its £75.

That may be the official line, but all the old modems are being replaced with "Superhubs" over time, so anyone complaining that their old one has failed will automatically have it replaced with the new version. It's slightly economical with the truth, I know.;)
