Those are power-line, home plugs, they extent your Ethernet connection between rooms using you home mains wiring.
Your modem is not wireless.
What you are looking for is a wireless cable router.

You can use the homeplugs you linked in post#1 to extend the reach of your broadband without the use of wireless. I already have a Virgin Media Wireless Superhub and find homeplugs do the job far more efficiently than the Wireless. I have actually used a wired connection to achieve this...0

thanks. so what i linked to originally will allow us to connect to a smart tv via the lan connection? what about a sky hd box? will it connect to that via a lan connection and enable us to get all the benefits of the on demand service?Moneyineptitude wrote: »You can use the homeplugs you linked in post#1 to extend the reach of your broadband without the use of wireless. how reliable are they? i ask because i am worried about it starting to update the firmware for example and if the signal dropped out half way through it could cause a serious issue couldnt it?
edit.
the internet is upstairs in a bedroom and obviously the tv is downstairs in the living room.0 -
