Am just checking in with a small spend of $4.50 on grapes, cheap yoghurt, drinks and breath mmnts. I have inventoried my fridge and cupboards and have found a scary amount of stuff. In the feezer and fridge I have enough prepared meals to form the mmain babasis of lunches and tteas for the next four weeks. I will just have to buy some veggies to go with most of the meals. I have also found a grand total of one hundred rolls of toilet paper just for me!

I apologise for the typos - I am using an ancient tablet which likes to insert double letters at random and change some words. It will not let me edit very easily either.

malamay - I'm very jealous of your up and coming holiday; I'm very desparate need of a break away. Last time we officially had a holiday was 2008!
We go to the isle of wight every year to spend time with DH's family - I don't count this as a holiday as I'm continually stressed throughout; driving all over the island attempting to catch up with everyone in the space of a week.

DH is back from his 5 day shark competition today, he ranked 10th out of 50:j. One very prouded Mrs here. They managed to catch some black bream and plaice; so going to have to include these in my meal plans.
Fridge is looking dreadfully bare atm - going to make a really dent in my budget restocking when my wages this week, which should (fingers crossed) include what I was missing last week.
Spag Bol tonight as it's DH favourite.

Hello all...just reporting a spend of £2.19 in Mr W yesterday - jerk chicken and crushed coriander/chilli sweet potatoes tonight. Using the last of the jar of Jerk paste in the fridge.

Happy to be gradually reducing the sauces and chutneys in the fridge! :D

Before I forget, Meg, I hope your op went well.

    Good afternoon all,

Since my last spend I have had all NSD, mainly because my remaining budget for the month is so tight :o

Been living from my stocks, so making loaves of bread in the bm, caramelising apples for pudding and using up meat and vegetables already in the house.

I may go slightly over budget for the month as hubby is on holiday next week so I will need to cater for lunches. Where possible I will still try and use up what is in the cupboards first and thus minimise any potential overspend.

ETA: Just remembered that it is my turn to cater for the family tea this coming Sunday, so I will definitely be over target for June.

Good luck with your op Meg.

40p on toothpaste today. Think we can last until at least Friday before we need fresh fruit (got a load of AF tinned fruit in juice to use up ).
2 weeks until payday and determined to have a cheap month so I can put a bit more into our budget for July and Aug when the kids are on holiday.

Help! I need the advice of fellow Grocery Challengers!

My budget is blown becuase we had visitors from America and we entertained them and all the family one night and I did a shed load of shopping on food and drink. And I also stocked the fridge in their holday home for them with basics.

So can I legitimately deduct the cost of the food and drink for that night/ fridge stock from my grocery bills?? I was thinking I can put it in my spending spreadheet as entertainment.

Otherwise my grocery challenge is out of the water for this month! :(

Sligo I'd put it down as entertainment as its not a regular thing.
Small shop this morning, only essentials that were needed and now have enough to last until next week at least Only spent £12.20 on milk, eggs, bread and some veg.I did treatmyself to a small packet of Garlic pepper from the local g'grocers as they have started selling cellophane packaged herbs and spices and 52p won't break the bank I am going to add a bit to my mashed spuds tonight at dinner and on the sausages that are cooking.Just to give it a bit of oomph.Shopping list is clear now and lots of stuff in the freezer and cupboards will keep me going hopefully :):)
