Evening all
I'm not planning on doing a big shop this month.
I have around 5 X £2 or £4 off a £20 shop at Mr T and Mr S so planning on lots of little shops rather than 1 big one (and even then I still do lots of little shops)
I'm shocked at how much I have spent so far this month, heaven knows how much I was spending before I was monitoring it and also buying wine
I am on the cutting down booze challenge and it is certainly helping me keep the alcohol spends down
Next week is payday (15th):j:j so if I can stay within £250 by next Saturday morning I will be on target to be within my budget this month
I hope everyones week starts well

Many many thanks for this, I have managed to get the seasoning on ebay and have found a recipe for this. My problem was we didnt know what the proper name was so googling Char Sui found what she wanted.
Its no wonder mine was a disaster as I had assumed the red colouring was tomato and its just red food colouring.Slimming World at target0 -

I am back for this month after failing dismally the last time I tried. I am going to try to spend $60 on groceries this fortnight for me and a fussy cat. I have withdrawn money for the fortnight and placed it into various envelopes for the different categories on my budget.
So far (since Thursday) I have spent $70 at various grocery shops BUT $20 at one shop was paid for with silver coins from a money box, so I am not counting it. I have $10 left and should make it because I will only need to buy fruit and milk unless I need to drive to my home town to see mum and dad (200 kilometres away).
I spent the day batch cooking a variety of meals which included curried chickpeas, which was the cheapest meal to make as it only used store cupboard ingredients.
(I did start out the month on a bad note as I bought a surface tablet, but will not worry too much about it).Fortnightly budget: $50/$60
On my way towards saving for America! :j0 -
If anyone wants Red Kidney beans, or Butter beans, then i got these for a bargain at Tesco this morning:
The red kidney beans (500g) were 50p (normally cost about £1.10), and the butter beans (375g) were 49p (normally cost about £1).
They weren't in the reduced section or anything, just in the 'wholefoods' section (with the lentils etc) as normal.0 -

Thanks very much for this :T. I wouldn't normally buy dried red kidney beans as at the normal price they cost the same amount as value tinned ones - but at that price they're very good value so I'll try and pick some up
Got a big Asda shop delivered so my monthly total is £146.05  got just under £40 to last and two more weekends to go. We'll see how I get on...
Made tomato and goats cheese tart for dinner, was great, though I don't think my OH found it particularly filling (I was stuffed and really enjoyed it). Haven't costed it yet but mad emy own rough puff pastry and bought the cheapest goats cheese I could find so can't have costed that much.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Same here, i always consider the electricity costs when buying dried beans, but this is so cheap i couldn't say no
Would you please share your recipe for puff pastry?0
