Hi all
Well, I'm feeling a little better at the mo - can't stay up very late, but making the effort to try to sleep more has been helping and also been snacking on gorgeous (rather expensive) fruit as well to keep my energy levels up. 5 weeks today so only 7 weeks of worry to go before scan lol!
MUST list things on Ebay this weekend. Also told mum I'll sort the bday cake out for her party next Sat and now I'm wondering why!! I'm going to get some cheapie buns (I know I can make them, but will have enough to do and they're only 50p for 12 in tesco!) and ice them with flowers and letters saing happy birthday - then all the kids can have one of these and the cake can be a little more grown up. Not sure what yet though. Will need to plan well. She loves walking and anything active so thinking of a hill, complete with fences/hedges/sheep etc. Will ring my friend for suggestions I think.
Also need to buy her a present - not sure what though - will have to have a see what I can get off her list (although it's very short - grrr) from ebay, or using points etc. The kids can make her a card and some hand print paper chains to decorate the carriage (she's booked a train carriage of a steam railway in leeds for the day). Thing is, her 'wants' are either tiny (which I'd like to leave as options for those not able to afford much) or massive (eg a garden bench, which people might club together for). Will have a dig around MSE for some ideas. She's also asked for sponsership for her scope trek to everest base camp (did I mention this was her 60th birthday so a big one).
I could get a little hamper of goodies for the everest trek, but don't know what she'll need!!
Help!!
Also going to have to pretend to be not-pregnant and hope I don't get MS on the train!

Blame it on a stomach bug? I had loads of 'stomach bugs' in the early weeks of pregnancy lol!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Hi Sea
I though you had confided in your mum? Or was that just when you suspected? Your mum certainly sound very organised and adventurous - espcially for someone who's nearly 60! Hope the cake plans are going well.
love and hugs

PS: How's the no smoking going?I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0 -
Hi
No, I just said I'd suspected to her - then the next day spoke on the phone and she said she couldn't sleep for worrying - so I said I'd got my period
Just with all the stuff with OH and the terrible downs we've had this year. Intend to tell her once i know all is ok with the baby (after first scan). Hmm...
No smoking is going well, but it may just be psychological but I am still craving them!

HI Sea
I bet your mum will guess.... I've developed a sixth sense now and always know before my friends/family tell me.
How are things going with OH? You haven't said much, I hope he is being supportive and not waking you up in the night or giving you a hard time.

Thanks
He's been quite good actually - so probably won't last long lol!
He's been planning how to make more money and has actually been getting up in the mornings to get to work and do enough hours that he's eligible for overtime this weekend which is good. We're scraping together the money for a set of new tyres and a service - the car is not braking as it should and needs dealing with asap.
Hey - you'll all be proud of me - I'm currently cooking Chicken Saag from scratch!Just got to cook the rice when OH comes home and it'll be yummy.
Got a recipe for my mum's cake and just have to find a little walker figure for the top of the cake as well. Got some great ideas for food (cheap) for the party as well - I LOVE this site!
Been really busy this afternoon - tidied DD's room, put away all the toys and clothes, tidied the kitchen as I said before and also did our room, but the bedclothes can be done tomorrow morning. Still have more washing to do but that can be this weekend's task.
Tried looking on Ebay for everest stuff but nothing jumped out at me.
How's your work gone Seaxwyn?

Hi Sea
I'm glad to hear he is being responsible - great news about the overtime.
I'm very impressed to hear about your mum. I hope I'm off climbing everest when I'm 60 but I expect I'll still be slaving away struggling to pay my mortgage.
I had a not bad afternoon workwise after lots of faffing this morning. But my OH dropped a bombshell this weekend which has plunged me into gloom. He's overdrawn on both his bank accounts, has incurred £75 charges on one and can't pay his credit card bill. I had thought that was all behind us. Oh well, these challenges are good for us as hypno would say.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
yes...what doesn't kill us and all that....doesn't feel like it at times though - eh? hugs to you and I hope this is the LAST time he does it.
Is there anything we can all do to help cheer you up? Sending you a big Pimms cocktail and snacks to put a smile on your face(I think it's hypno and snaggles that have made me start fantasising about pimms now)
hmm....can't find a suitable pimm's smilie
