Does feel a little overwhelming, but OH has got all his family round him and so therefore, has his mother which is nice. I'm biting my tongue about the increase in drinking again.

Cj is the circle journal - a little album that you send round like a round robin - everyone puts a lay out on the particular theme of the album nd then sends it on until complete. We were meant to send them off on Weds, but I've been really bad and will only get mine out tomorrow because of all the stuff going on.

Alas, if he's drinking at all, then he's lost the battle.

He's been good and only drinking once a week - the dr basically told him he was an alcoholic so that sorted that for him. He's drunk the last two nights and has jsut rung me to check it's ok if he goes out tonight with his brothers. Can't really say anything at the moment.

It's not for you to deal with his problem. It is for him to deal with his problem. If he is using alcohol as a crutch to deal with stress etc, then he'll always need it. There is always stress in life.

Actually if you want to see how an addict thinks, look over at the "Giving up smoking" thread, and just mentally substitute "nicotine" with "alcohol".

At least after recent events you know that you can make the difficult decision as and when needed. I know you've been really busy with sick children etc but when you can do try & get to an alanon meeting as I really think it will help to see how others experience the same as you do and fab to know you're not alone!
Hugaros me lovely - hope the kids get better soon and all OK with MIL...
