Halifax Web Saver Extra?
Comments
-
Some online banking systems (including Halifax) allow you to name your accounts. One handy trick is to use the name to record information regarding bonus rates and access restrictions.
To find out the rate for one of your own accounts, go that account's page within your online banking. There will normally be a small line of text saying something like 'more information' just below the title of the account. Click that and it will show the current rate (including bonus)*
Regarding the accounts mentioned in this thread, I believe...
The 'online saver' typically includes a one year bonus rate, then it drops to 0.1%, so definitely ditch and switch at that point. Halifax should send you a letter before then.
The 'web saver extra' used to offer a small bonus if you had a matching reward current account, but now it just seems to behave like a variable rate saver. One withdrawal per year, loss of interest if you make more than one withdrawal.

Looks like they've overcome it now. The rate is clear and on screen without the clicky button thing.0
