Flying east on long haul and recovering from the journey is fairly quick. In the other direction not so quick.
We flew back from Bangkok on day time flights via Muscat last Thursday. My body clock still hasn't sorted itself out, hence the time of this posting.

Good to have you back PP. Hope you had a fantastic trip. I wish I had been out of the country for the past few weeks - it's been bloody freezing here.

Great idea. It doesn't take long to scoot round India and see all the sights!

Even if they went to France they wouldn't get round all the sights in five days, hell even if they stayed in the UK, so what's your point?

You advised Marrakesh which isn't long haul earlier so I advise Mumbai which is long haul. That's how questions work, you'll learn in time but thanks for playing.

Of course they wouldn't. I'd advise a region in La Merde, and where to see in that short time.

I don't think I did advise Marrakesh. I said it's a great place, but not suitable for everyone.
You never mentioned Mumbai, you said India. Tbh, as well as the travel, 5/6 days ain't worth the expense of the the new Visa charges.

    Thanks.

Got back last Friday. Great time, everything went more or less to plan, except I did my left ankle in just before we embarked. That meant too much time propping up on a bar stool.

    Oman Air were excellent.

I've posted 8 hotel reviews so far on TA, and all sorts of other stuff on the Cambodia and Thailand forums. If you want a boring few hours my user name is' LancasterLad'.

5/6 long haul is worth it depending on how long the long haul is. For instance most of the USA and Canada, totally worth it, OZ or New Zealand then no.

    You could try India.

    India - In a week?

Having been to just about every part of India you could imagine, I'd have to disagree, there would be no point at all going for such a small amount of time.

Instead of New York have you thought of Toronto instead?? Not sure how old your kids are or what your budget is but there's loads to see and do there (Niagara, CN Tower etc)

Alright I could have been a bit more specific, of course I didn't mean ALL of India for crying out loud, but somewhere in India.

For what it's worth I don't think it's worth doing a long haul for what they want but that's what they asked so I came up with an idea.
