Aww aint that sweet.
Sometimes you just can't have the job that you want. Sometimes you have to start at the bottom and work your way up. If that means working in McDonalds then so be it. Go claim benefits and see what they say when you tell them 'I can't work at McDonalds because my mummy and daddy would be upset.'This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down0 -

I can not afford to move out until I have a decent job and I don't have job decent job at the moment, so I am stuck for the foresee future.
Good god man! Sort yourself out. Listen to all the advice you're given. If you're waiting for a "decent job" as your first job, you may be waiting a very long time, especially with the attitude you have.
I started at the very bottom of the pile - it definitely wasn't a "decent job" sticking labels on packs of beetroot, however I soon gained experience and climbed up the ladder there.
Another strict criteria for me was that it was not within commuting distance of my parents! I had to pay rent with the minimal (payment was far less than the average graduate wage at the time) salary that I had - paying for bills etc.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
I haven't read pages 8+9 as I'm lazy..
but you know what.. don't give up.
I got rejected for quite a few lesser jobs when looking for a graduate job. I've just secured my favourite position of the lot - and one of the most respected ones.. so it shows that a bit of practice in interviews can certainly help.. and everyone can get rejections and still get a good job.. I'm glad I got rejected from the assessment I went to a couple months ago - because if I had got it I wouldn't have got the job I now have, which is even better!0 -
Unfortunately the world doesnt owe you a living and your dreams wont fall in your lap.
The only person stopping you doing things is you and the only person who can make things happen is you. You are in the driving seat.
Dont use your parents as an excuse to do nothing. What will they do, ground you?!
Stay in your comfort zone or do something scary. Either way its your choice and you have to take responsibility for the situation you choose to be in.
btw - I used to think some of the posters on here were a little bit harsh in their comments to you but I am now feeling their frustrations. There's nothing harder than trying to help someone who can't help themselves.0 -

And SP it might not be a case of 'someone better on the day', you may well have been just as qualified and just as likeable as the other candidate, it may simply come down to them having more experience. This does not make them 'better' than you. That's Numberwang!0

True, it could have been an inside job in that they had internal people already or anything I will just never know what the successful person had that I don't.:beer:0 -
