Does anyone know what the standard accommodation is like at Butlins Bognor and Butlins Minehead please. My party includes grandparents with back problems so need to know if Butlins will be suitable?

    Thanks

Been to Butlins mine head. Stayed in Silver accommodation. Was nice and beds comfy. Stayed standard at Skegness and still ok and beds just as comfy! You can request ground floor when you pay the service charges.

any more info on standard accomm at skegness? Never been to Butlins but managed to get a weekend this time standard self catering ...

I never imagined Butlins as suitable for grandparents at all BUT i suppose it all depends on the age of the grandparents and what they are like....

i am older than many of my primary age children's friends grandparents ...

Grandparents in early 60's and 3 generations going. Just that they need comfortable beds due to back problems and will be unhappy if really shoddy. :D

Standard is a bit threadbare but clean. If its not text the number in the welcome pack and they are very quick to respond. A plug socket near the dressing table didn't work and I reported it late one night as I couldn't use my straighteners. Electrician was there at 0930 and fixed it. No microwave in standard but a full electric oven, toaster kettle. Lounge has two leather sofas and CRT tv with 3 to 5 channels. Table and four chairs between the kitchen and living areas. A double and a twin bedroom. Toilet sink and shower altogether. Hth!
  • Hi all, sorry but never bought a Sun holiday before and am a bit confused. I used the codes on Fri to book a weekend and after payment went through I was given a wkend in Sept at a Haven site...fab!
This afternoon, I took a chance and tried booking another weekend, payment went through and I've been given a weekend at a diff Haven park in July, which again is great!
Now I'm worried having read a few threads about Sun holidays, that I won't get both the breaks I've booked. It seemed a bit easy booking them both as I've been reading about people using priority codes?? and not getting the holidays they wanted etc......am I being totally dumb and made a mistake somewhere??

Dont worry you will get both your holidays :T

The people who are not getting the holidays they want are those wanting August dates at Haven, Butlins etc - all those dates went very quickly once the Priority Booking site opened - also August dates in france etc....

It's great you have got two holidays you wanted through the new booking on line site.

The August and other school holiday dates will always be the most popular and also the ones in short supply, so people (including me) will always moan when they can't get them :o

We have been very spoilt using priority online booking for a few years, and so maybe we are expecting a lot to get cheap holidays in peak weeks :o

but is the only way many people can take kids away as many can't take breaks in term time....
