    Evening VT
I have one of those sewing boxes mines got cotton and buttons in,
My mum has a smash tin that is full of buttons and i can remeber it from a kid in the 70's we played for hours with the button tin, can you imagine many kids doing that now?
My mum used to work part time, she had us 5 girls and dad cooked for my pap and uncle everyday too, and still made all our clothes, coats dads suit's, batch baked on her day off ( a thurs) and then we had a treat of an egg cup full of currants and sultana's lol

We played for hours with buttons too. Was making my own clothes by 12. Did gcse needlework and as we had to do many different techniques I remember making a blue silk blouse with pintucks and a !!!!! (Ligit name for large bow at neck of blouse) bow and covering my own buttons.
Its like a bit treasure trove in there going to have so much fun. Some beautiful buttons. Feel guilty now for all the clothing I have thrown away with buttons on and all the little plastic packets of spare buttons thrown.

My new scales will have to go back tomorrow as will not calibrate.

mhoc, so sorry about your dd and her bf, was it your dd's bf mum who was poorly? if so how is she?

Yes same ones, terrible year they have had so far.

Bf mum finally came out of hospital just before Mother's Day, day before bfs birthday so perfect timing. Dad managed to organise work so he is now based locally - before it was a 90 minite round trip to and from work every day. Nurses are in and out all day. She is going to have the prosthetics fitted soon and it won't be long before she is walking again. The 2 operations on her hands to restore blood flow worked well and her hands are recovering, even has finger nails growing again. In all doing remarkably well in such a short space of time.

Just looking on ebay local....again . this would be good for my stash in the shed but wont get it in the car :(
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-SHELF-OFFICE-CABINET-CUPBOARD-/121090041465?pt=UK_BOI_Office_Equipment_Supplies_Office_Furniture_ET&hash=item1c31876679#ht_149wt_958

At that price it would be worth getting a delivery quote from shipley. Its close to you so shouldnt be much. I use them a lot as although I can get a fair bit in my car I can't lift.

Online banking tells me that first payments (as this will be) take longer , estimated delivery 8 April :(

There is a chance that online could go quicker, but I'm better off waiting for them to answer.

Over 80 minutes now and 10 minutes til closing time. :(

If no success, then open ANY Easy Access Cash ISA:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-cash-isa?utm_source=MSE_Newsletter&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=02-Apr-13&utm_campaign=savings&utm_content=37#best

    Still time. :)

Just transfer the money to a new cash ISA tomorrow with a better rate.

    :)

    Start with a 1st Account: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/latesttip/#firstdirect

Switch over to First Direct and get £125 (for a few minutes work). I switched over a few months ago and they have incredibly good CS (unlike Tesco :rotfl:).

You ring one number and they answer within 5 rings...no silly 'press 5 for this dept' or 'say your account number' with their voice recognition software. Open 24/7 and UK call centres.

AND you can apply for a regular saver that pays 6% interest (an amazing rate).

    Go for it...;)
i ALSO have an instant access isa with them that pays 3%
