I'm afraid I have to report that David. is a bit of a dissapointment to the local whoopsie club. Who else would wait to be asked if they wanted a pork joint when it was plonked right in front of them at a very attractive price:rotfl::rotfl:

Trying to open a cash ISA before the midnight deadline. Very few still accepting business, I managed to open a Tesco cash ISA online, now I need to transfer money into it. The only way to do it instantly is by debit card on the phone. I have been on hold for 41 minutes, but "we do want to help you" and I am "moving forward in the queue".
Lines shut at 10pm. What are the chances of me being on hold for another 40 minutes?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Is it glitch night? (It's been long overdue.) If so, my planned shop Avs T could be about to be changed, with new multibuy offers on it. Just to confuse you all - not difficult:rotfl:- the usual 2x packs of bacon (they're Avs S not Avs T!) really are £2.55 each, and don't have a multibuy anymore, on sada.com's website (looks like they have a new 'front page' on their own site as well). I'm just off to Sains. (to see if I can catch the end of some whoopsies) and then I'll compile my Sada extravaganza shop (assuming m'buys work/rather don't work on APG) against T.0 -

Agree that Gosh is brilliant. Spent many years there with my DS. At the time there wasn't much hope for DS but I was a lucky parent. There are many 'stars/famous' people who give their time but don't publicise it. It really lifts the kids up to see these people. Even more so that they chat on a one to one basis and, in my DS's case followed through after their visit. Through personal experience at Gosh, M&S and McD's are brilliant, they just donate without asking for publicity. When my DS was in there at Christmas time, Debs kindly got Father Christmas to visit and give gifts. Took the pics for publicity, then took the pressies away. Used the photos in their stores. Lots of upset children. Sorry, enough said, I'll get off my soapbox.0 -
I know but I had my eye on the loin
don't want to be greedy
I thought it was the loin that you got or was it Barbara?
I stayed a while for the rest of the bread to come out and a bit more veg so got my loaf of Vogel and one for someone else who was still cruising the aisles:rotfl:
No sign of those several bunches of Lilies though, but I guess one of the staff must have wanted them so they were mysteriously "disappeared" out back;)Awaiting a new sig0 -

I was once on hold to my insurance company for over an hour (very used to just picking up a phone and staying there for ages) (of course, on a freephone got from the 'Say No' website). Insurance co. lines closed at 8pm, me dialling them just after 7 - they did eventually answer me, though, at around 8.15 (after the lines were closed) - only for me to ask a question that they couldn't answer there and then:mad:. Didn't seem worth it, after all that time, the conversation I had on the phone lasted less than 5 minutes! Hope you have better luck - I'd keep on that phone line now, until they answer.0 -
