My BR is taking place on 19th April. I am experiencing all sorts of emotions and I think my friends are sick to death of hearing me ramble on about it. I'm do grateful for this board as its been my sanctuary! I feel like I am about to be reborn. I don't even know what I'll moan about after Friday as I have talked about being in debt for so many years its become part of me. I guess I will eventually experience what life is really like without a black cloud hanging over me daily.

Vorgot

Well today went pretty well. Saw the clerk at 11:30, handed my forms in and was briefly in front of the judge at 12:30 when he granted the bankruptcy order. Everyone was very understanding and kind, it was a long way from being the scary event I thought it would be. I'm now expecting a call from the OR tomorrow. Feel a bit numb at the moment, not sure how to react. I think once the call is done, the relief will set in.

I'm pleased all went well. It's how many people feel numb and there is no right or wrong way to feel.....the relief will set in soon, honest :A

OR rang today and we had a quick chat, just to verify some details. She hasn't got my statement of affairs yet, and will arrange an interview in the next few days.

Big call tomorrow to the Co-Op. I have a cashminder account that I want/need to keep going. I just hope they will let me continue with it

Another person who has gone bankrupt in April here
as of 9:45am I was officially bankrupt, after reading so many threads on here and feeling exactly how others had felt I also experienced the same at the court. Very professional and I did not feel judged in any way. Now waiting for a call from the OR within 2 days to see what they will need from me.

Today Day 14 of my BR year I am just recapping whats happened in these 14 days since my BR date

Ive had my call from the OR and my not so discreet envelope from the Insolvencey Service with a few forms to sign and returned, those are done.

Coop has let me keep my 2 Cashminder accounts opened before BR date, though they renforced the warning about checking my balances and there 3 strikes and your out warning:p:o:eek::D

Just tried to sign into my Barclays acct....looks like they hav:D stopped my internet banking facility, will check later on today to see if I still have an account with them.:o:o

Not much to add, still getting letters from companies etc etc just forward them now to OR and phone calls just give them my BR number and put he phone down...not much more you can do really.

Im still finding the bieng unemployed a bit depresisng, bieng made redundant and the firm going to the wall hence no redundancey and then the ex OH going BR and me having to follow suit as the mortgage debt fell to me Im just :ofeeling a bit down in the mouth and thinking how unfair life is/was.

I had no real debt but that mortga:o:o ge:o debt...my utilities etc were all up to date, and had to use the last of my rainy day fund to pay BR fees though I have claimed back my court fees, just wondering how long that will take to come back...

The ex has phoned me to say he is handing the keys back and moving if I want anything out of the garden etc to come and get it this weekend.....so as he is going away and left me the keys its dismantling the greenhouse and the shed and digging up every plant I can and have asked my friends two strapping lads to come help me bag up the gravel and lift the slabs etc...this might sound extreme bit I paid for all that landscaping and its not bieng left for someone else.

Ex OH left a couple of big boxes at my bungalow back door last night, all the NEXT light fittings and curtain poles from the house:rotfl:and lampshades and some curtains.
Am now getting suspicious about his goodwill gestures mmmmmm even he must have a guilt feeling what he did to me:eek: ah well if nothing else I can have a good ebaying session with the stuff.

I hav:eek: to get on with the garden of this bungalow but just dont or cannot drum up the energy, hey former BR folk did you hit a dip in enthusiasm for life just after your BR date? I think I worried myself silly up to the BR date that its now taking its toll and making me feel yeuck but inside I now going BR was for the best.

Its 2.15 am finally feel ready to sleep. Till laters folks have a good day:j
