Which form when transferring TO Nationwide?

Hoping someone has gone through the same & knows the answer to avoid having to call.

Wanting to transfer an ISA >from< Santander >to< Nationwide.

Got my mum to call in to the local branch to ask for the appropriate form at the desk. She was given a pack with various forms.

On the front of the envelope it states the contents:

1x External Transfer In application form (SF215)
2x External Transfer In request forms (SF216)

So it would appear that BOTH forms are correct.....?

The correct one?

It's both forms, the first one they keep and the other one gets sent to Santander. My hubby transferred his a couple of weeks ago and filled out both forms.

I am about to transfer mine, although not sure how that is going to go as I am asking to transfer on the 1st May and now they have changed the t&c's. I have a letter stating I can transfer on the 1st May but it was written before the t&c change!

The form doesn't have a field for the date to transfer so I am just ticking the 'serve notice' box and sending the form with a covering letter with the date.

I would write directly on the form (if only to say they must refer to the covering letter). That way, they can't say they didn't know you had "side instructions".

She's just filling this out now but wanting a bit of advice rather than going in branch to ask the question on Tuesday...

    SF215 (the first image)....

Under "Your ISA" the 2nd box, i'm assuming you put in your Flexclusive ISA reference number (considering the sort code & account number are the same)?

Under "Interest Instructions" she's ticked the first box. Do any of the other fields need filling out?

The only problem with this form (SF215) is that i can't see any field where you enter the details of the account that you're actually transferring (in this case, the Santander ISA).

Then on to form SF216, you're filling in details of the account you're transferring, but no details of where it's actually being transferred TO.

    Thanks.

On the first form you just need to fill out your personal details, the number of ISAs you are transferring and then the Flexclusive number, I just took this from my online banking and it had exactly the same number of digits as the form. I think I put an X in the box for interest to be added to the ISA, not sure you really need to do this but it won't do any harm (provided that is what you want of course!). Then just sign and date the end.

The second form has the details for your Santander ISA.

I have just completed these forms and see they no longer give you an envelope to return the forms. Going to take them into branch tomorrow. The one I am transferring does not mature until 17th April 2013 so I have ticked the 1 box - serve full notice period before the transaction can be processed. Going to check what change in terms in conditions other posters are talking about. Hope they still pay interest from date of receipt of your application.

She hasn't ticked the box to serve notice because the account should've matured today.

We both checked our Santander ISAs which we were told would mature today, but no interest paid.

The missus is ok - she has tomorrow off work so can make the call easy. I'm going to have to ask favours so i can make the call to Santander to upgrade my ISA during my dinner break.

Not sure why they gave 2 SF216s, so she filled them both out to be sure & will hand them in tomorrow - as you said, there's no envelope.

They give you two incase you are transferring in more than one ISA. Nationwide keep the first form and then send the others to the other providers. The absence of an envelope I think is a bit sloppy, I have sent mine to the same person who wrote my letter saying I can transfer on the 1st May, going to give them a few days to receive it and then phone and see what the story is!

They pay interest from the day they receive your application if the funds are available to move on that day - in your case they will pay interest from the 17th April. I handed in hubby's form on the 2nd March, it took 3 weeks for the money to appear in his nationwide ISA but it was dated 2nd March.

Well it turns out you ONLY need form SF216, and you ONLY need one of them.

The wife took the forms in - SF215 filled out & filled out SF216 both times too.
Went to the desk, questioned whether she'd done it right & they said you don't need SF215 & only need one SF216, so they shredded those & kept one of the SF216s.

    Job done.
