The law is to be changed next year, in the airlines favour, be grateful at the moment you may have 6 years to claim, if the changes go ahead, the limit will be three months and the delay period necessary will be between 5-12 hours, not three as at the moment0

I dont have any proof the flight hit the head lines as michelle moan was on the same flight and tried to charter a flight herself for us all due to the appauling treatment we received. Is there a chance i can claim?
Kind regards

Whilst you can indeed claim back to 2005 for EU261 compensation, the UK statute of limitations bars you from taking any court action against the claim.
But you are looking for recompense against hotel and food costs, which is another matter.
Why have you not claimed before now? There was no court stay on claims for this?0 -

To clarify, the rule that claims may be made dating back to 2005 was made by the EU, and different limitations apply to different member states. If you were able to claim in Spain, for example, you would be able to go back ten years. It just so happens that our national law limits claims to six years, although some solicitors say it may be possible to bring a 261/2004 claim that arose more than six years ago, but that would be a test case that must be expertly argued at your considerable expense, and may not succeed.0
