dash-cams - Car insurance discount?

I think there are some car insurance companies that give favourable rates for drivers that fit "blackbox" type devices.

Are there any that do similar if you fit front and rear dash-cams?

The only claim I ever had was when someone drove into my stationary vehicle, and with only his word against mine it cost my insurance co nearly £4k in repairs on a knock for knock basis.

I intend to fit a decent dash-cam system and was hoping I could justify the expense partly through car insurance discount:D

I thought dash cams were cheap as chips these days so not much expense to justify

    Thanks for your response.
I have been researching which would be a suitable piece of kit....can be as cheap as £20 but some up to a few £hundred.

Just trying to think MS- laterally:)

Thanks for posting...longish story...single lane track,

I was stationary and he was driving too fast and hit my car head-on. He claimed we were both going too fast to stop and I had no evidence.
Dash cam would have proved my case.

No, it wasn't the usual rear-ending scam ...longish story...single lane track,

I was stationary and he was driving too fast and hit my car head-on. He claimed we were both going too fast to stop and I had no evidence.
The insurance companies, as they do, agreed a knock-for-knock.
Dash cam would have proved my case.

Insurance may charge you more. Someone may want to break into the car and steal the dashcam.

Not seen any that give a discount. Doesnt really help lower premiums. Unless you have to give them a copy of the video each day/week.

    What a Bar Steward...
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I had an accident, I have a dash cam, my insurance company "lost" the CD (which I sent them) several times and tried to push for 50/50 anyway. It was only after I threatened to post the video on Youtube with their name linked to it, that they finally stopped loosing the video footage.

Bunch of corrupt barstewards, the lot of them.
