I have snarfed 6 NSDs in April out of my target of 10.
But afraid to say that I find I spend a lot less money when buying what I need (note need, not want) when it is needed and also have fresher fruit/veg by buying it on the day I use it than doing a big shop in advance. Buying smaller when I need it also encourages me to walk more so has added benefits.
So I'm going to complete April shortly and will then bow out of future challenges.I know what you mean but to me I just don't see the point of a no spend challenge target when you're allowed to spend money. It's a contradiction in terms.
As I said in my update, I am sorry that you are finding that the NSD challenge isn't working for you.
What I have found is that, it is all about curbing that spending on stuff that is not essential. We all have our life expenses, things that keep the roof over our heads, heat, light, food and water BUT do we really need that Co$ta on the way to work or that magazine that is all shiny and littered with attention grabbing headlines (can you tell I was almost tempted by one yesterday?but I decided I could live without knowing how Carol Vorderman brews her tea :rotfl:)
For me,the challenge is the No Spend Day Challenge so you set yourself a target of days that you will spend nothing else (apart from those things that are truly essential) and it stops the mindless, aimless stuff that most of us do without even thinking and then wondering where all our money has gone.
The challenge is certainly not about not spending altogether but if you want to go hardcore you should have a look at NinjaSavingKat's challenge. That is much more structured and challenging and people seem to love it and are finding it is really helping them.
Like I said, it is all about what works for you and if this challenge isn't doing that and you have found a way that works better, then you should definitely do it your way. After all, we are all here for one aim and that is to be in control of our money.Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Thank you! March is always a tricky month as its my sister & my partners birthday and our dating anaversery (we're not married yet) so its a bit of an expensive month.

SavingsRepayment: £0/£359.00
GeneralSavings: £244.01/£1000+ Dec 15
SPC#1435 £10.29

Reporting that I had a spendy ole day yesterday
I will not be able to do the update in the morning as I am away for the weekend :T I'll try to catch up when I get home tomorrow night but I have a feeling I'll be too [STRIKE]hungover[/STRIKE] tired to do much
I took the money out of the bank yesterday for the weekend and as long as I only use that and don't spend any more or use my card while I am away I will be counting them as NSDs (can't spend the money twice, IFYSWIM)
Have a great weekend (I know I will):rotfl:

That is exactly why I take part in this challenge. To stop me spending needlessly at lunch time in the shopping preccint next to work, at the weekend - all on things I don't need.
Over the last 7mths since I rejoined the challenge, the penny finally dropped last month and has left me feeling pretty determined! I need to keep this going, as I have a long way to go paying off those pesky CC's I have built up debt on.
I don't count spending on food and petrol as I budget for these but any other spending in cash or online counts. I don't spend on CC's and have removed them from all my accounts online and they are frozen in a cup in the freezer - works for me!
Right then let's see what's sold on ebay - up to £100 now for CC debt repayments - that's better than having things around that don't fit or don't use!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
