Today has been totally carp. A while ago I booked a Group0n for an MOT. Turns out the postcode for the garage was incorrect so a bit further away from me than expected. Went there today, waited 2hrs ( seemed to be running behind) only to be told it's failedIt's a total pain for me to get back there although they have apparently moved some jobs around so I could take it tomorrow and wait until it's done, and the parts they've quoted for are £160 according to them (double
).
Oh no Kerri, that's awful. I bought the Group0n MOT / service / car wash a few weeks ago and worried the whole week before that I'd be stung with major repair bill so they could recoup their money. I was very relieved when it was done - the wash wasn't great but I didn't expect it to be. Not sure what to advise though (so that's not very helpful is it :rotfl:) If you go to your original garage and it still fails.....(think we're allowed to use the f-word in this context)
Good luck with it.
I'm reporting NSD # 2 for yesterday and, despite my best efforts, managed to nab NSD#3 today :j Thought I was going to have to replace DS's sim card as he's managed to spill a drink over his phone. Turns out the sim card is okay - he had to buy a new phone....I would've stumped up the £5 for a sim card but a whole new phone needs to come out of his wages - think that's fair enough
Spendy day planned tomorrow for Grand National party - maybe I'll recoup my spending though - fingers crossedSPC Member #112 :A Save £2k in 2014 # 160 :money:0 -

Thanks MissE001. My usual garage went through the list of the three fails with me over the phone this morning so they could order the parts in and have them ready if needed. They did say two of the items were open to interpretation about the reason for failure (ie they weren't out and out failures) which does make me think I've done the right thing. Even if it does need all three parts, I'm still interested to see the cost v prev quote. Perhaps I'm being unfairly harsh on this other garage - I guess Monday will tell me more.
Had a really lazy day today, but it is the last day of my holiday. Which does man NSD #3 :j
Looks like our posts overlapped Beanie - car booked in with usual garage on Mon and i feel a lot happier about that. Other garage didn't seem overly surprised that I wasn't going back - don't know, they just seemed very 'cliquey' if that makes sense? Glad it's kinda sorted now (apart from my car still needing it's MOT and me wasting a day yesterday). I really don't know why it all suddenly seemed such a mountain for me.
On the upside, and a diff topic, lost another 1/2" from my waist today at boot camp measure up. DM commented the other day about my figure and how I don't seem so up and down like I used to, but I think my hips have more or less stayed the same and my waist has gone in - glad I have something to show / motivate me for the hard work.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
