Hi all; and a very Hoppy Birdday to Judi.
Redruby I'm really sorry to hear that Little Dog is likely diabetic. If it's any comfort at all, two of my guests were – Sidny and Cameron – and they both led very happy lives. Mr LW did their “injeculations” as he called them when they stayed with us (apparently it's a word Mr LW's dad made up) and had no trouble. Sidny was given his insulin before meals – all we had to do was call him, and he'd trot along and wait to have it done:A - and had to have “cardboard” tasting stuff from the vet to eat, and Cameron was injected after he'd started eating, and was on normal dog food; my task was to “run interference” between him and his pal Candy, as whichever of them finished eating first would try for the other's food bowl.:D

Both Sidny and Cameron had their insulin injected into the scruff of the neck. I'm sure the vet will advise what's best for Little Dog. You've caught it early, so she should be fine.:o Give her a (((HUG))) from Aunty Wolfy.;)

Oh, before I forget, I'm pretty certain Sidny's owners used to get his meds and needles online – I think the stuff was called Caninsulin or something very similar; the needles were two-use, so we were told to get a new one out each morning, and keep it to re-use for the evening dose, then dispose of it. Occasionally you'd get a duff needle, so you'll want to make sure to have a small supply of them to hand, just in case that happens.;) We were never required to test the wee for either dog, but it may be that it was OK for them not to be tested for the short period they were staying with us.:o

We've made pretty good use of the enforced day off (I hate Bank Holidays!!) Mr LW found a load of paperwork in the loft that is now well out of date, so the shredder has been earning it's keep.:o I've also done a fairly major file-cull on my pc, as well as the monthly back-up,and have a full system scan going as I type (I'm using the netbook to be online).

Mr LW is supposed to be culling files on his pc and backing it up, but I think he's wandered off into Trip Advisor territory.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon all!
Been to see FIL, he's got another chest infection and is just sleeping in his chair, big wooly jumper on despite having a temperature, doc has started him on antibiotics, I think MIL is finally coming to terms with his illness after all these years but she is worried sick about him, and let slip that her sister is going this afternoon for memory testing, wouldn't be at all surprised if she is in the early stages of dementia.
Popped in to mums on the way home, house empty but a warm half drunk cup of coffee sitting and the kitchen window was open, she's still not in so wondering what has happened for her to rush out!
Red pepper and tomato soup is bubbling away to replenish the stocks, DD can sort herself something out for dinner cos my guts are churning today!

edited to add panic over, mum was late for an opticians appointment!
    RIP Iain

Just popped back to wish Judi Happy Birthday

Halight I'm not massively overweight but just feel happier a size 12 to 14. Would be happy with just another stone off, I've already lost two and put half back on.
It's more about health for me. I was very impressed with Dr Michael Mosely on Horizon and the fact that you can lower your cholesterol, blood pressure and severely reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers by cutting down on a couple of days a week.
Although my hubby certainly prefers me curvier:eek: I tend to feel very sluggish and tired when I let myself put weight on, added to that I can't exercise at the mo with my knee.
Don't worry there is absolutely no chance of me going down the nick as my dad would say:rotfl:
I keep thinking its Saturday, I've got all me days mixed up with the bank holiday. Anyway I'm shattered, have worked hard today, shall chill tonight with a bottle of wine in front of the tv. Youngest is off to a party and middle son is in Newcastle with his gf visiting friends, so we have a little bit of peace for a change. Have a good evening x

    Afternoon all:j:j

    Cheep,Cheep:j:j

Well we did the animal Hunt at the shopping center. The Girls got A bag of Mini eggs each for doing it.
We only had to find 12 animals, In the shop windows. Now there is well over 200 shops there, But they did give us the names of the shops that had them In Bit of a problem with two of the shops, We don't go up there that much as it gets very busy, Anyway two of the shops were newish, And we had never heard of them before, So We did have to really find them two out.
Anyway, It past a couple of hours up there, They had a little pay on the free play area too and a sandwich.

we poped Into asda On the way out. its been months since we have been In there. Picked a few yellow lable Item's up; inc some cheep bread for my Bread pudding backing.

Its gone from being warm (Ish) In the Sun this morning to being very very chilly this afternoon. a sign that the cold blast is hear to stay awhile longer.

we girls have asked for chips and sausage from the Fish and chip shop for dinner tonight. So they are going to have that with some salad, My wife and I have picked up an Asda take a way curry @£5 For our dinner tonight. we will have our after they have gone to bed.

Well I hope that you have all had a "Good" Good Friday.

    Enjoy whats left.

    Cheep, Cheep:j:j

Sorry to hear about little dog Redruby. She will be fine once her meds are sorted x

We had some shocking news yesterday, my niece who is 25 has just been diagnosed with Lymphoma. She has two kiddies and is getting married this year. The doctors have told her that it is treatable, but it will be a long process, DB is angry because the GP has ignored her symptoms for months

It is turning out to be a really **** year, with one thing and another :(
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Aww thankyou all for my birthday wishes. Ive had a lovely day. Early morning greetings from my daughter in the form of an audio message from my daughter in South Africa. She and her partner sang happy birthday to me and i could hear Soldier in the background. For anyone who doesnt know. Soldier is the first abandoned baby they took on as foster carers. Soldier was the name his Father gave him when he gave him up for adoption. My daughter and her partner are going through the proccess of adopting him.

My other daughter came with her 'bump'. Baby 'G' as it is affectionately known as (the 'G' is the first letter of my Daughters Fiances surname).

Ive had cards, gifts, chocolate and money and i feel thoroughly spoiled. I went out this afternoon spending my money on my one indulgence. Makeup. Then i went out for a meal before ending up at one of the local motorbike shops. Saw a couple i loved..... I miss the bike dreadfully.

Its funny, i keep myself to myself always, i dont mix with many people at all. In fact you could say i'm a bit of a loner but it suprises me how popular or well liked i must be to be spoiled by so many people.

So today, i am going to spend the evening on my computer and play with my new 'toys'.

Ive done hardly any housework for two days. Ive not cooked anything or prepared food for 24 hours and its been great!

Sorry to hear about little dog Redruby but so relieved she's got someone as caring as you to love and look after her.

Butterfly Brain, such awful news about your Neice, so glad its treatable though. Thank goodness it is treatable!

    Big hugs to all,
