  • Just phoned them thanks, got £12.99 per month unlimited plus phone free eves and w/e plus three free months, just to stay with them. As I have been happy with the service I accepted their offer, only drawback is 12 mths contract agreed, still saved Almost £100, thanks again. 17.99-12.99 = £5.00 x 12 plus three times £12.99.

  • I was never offered anything when I asked for my MAC, but then of course I had asked for my MAC three times and finally got it after 30 days. And now they want another 30 days subscription fee. ha ha Have they never heard of Unfair Terms..ha haOrange has the worst customer service on the planet. Just try and get any kind of service. Their written customer service is very poor - I have had to complain to OfCom twice so far.Good luck to you all. I am now with Zen, whilst I'm paying more. I also get top drawer service.
  • Just to add to the previous post, I too attempted this approach, however despite using the mantra suggested previously I was not offered anything to remain with them!

I now have my MAC code being sent to me. Am I correct in assuming that if I do nothing my account will remain active and operational? I ask this because I could do without the upheaval or switching to another ISP (I said I was moving to Sky but that was blarney).

Secondly, do you think it's worth me ringing them back at a later date and trying it on with another member of customer services?
  • Yes your account will stay active and you will not be able to obtain another MAC until the current on you have expires (after 30 days). You could try escalations department within Orange and see if that works. I have a fax number somewhere but can't find it just now. will post when I can.You could try 01132229100 and ask for the escalations section.BTW: orange numbers are 08456717125 or 01642732785Hope that helps you out. I don't know why you would want to stay with them however.
  • In my experience, I can't say much Negative about Wanadoo/Orange - unlike others!

Simply put, £18 for a restricted service these days is not good value, but just to be offered my MAC code without any attempt to retain my custom totally baffles me!

Found the fax number is 01642 732 728 and you can address it to Paul Donaldson, 14th floor, escallations department.

    Good luck.
  • I've never had any problems with them either, and I've been there since the dial up Freeserve days. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones!!

I called yesterday to get my code to switch to BT. It hadn't even occured to me that they would try and offer me a deal so I was pleasantly surprised! I was on the 19.99 unlimited package, 8mg broadband with livebox. The adviser offered me £12.99, same speed, same livebox, 10gb download limit and 3 months free, bringing my yearly bill from £239.88 to £116.91. 12 month contract, but given I'm happy and the price is better than BTs by £3 a month, I'm in no rush to move!

    Delighted!

ETA: The name of the new deal is RETENTION BB PLUS.
