Kingsize or Superking bed?

We have a superking sized bed - it cost a lot - I've never had any problem getting bedding - I wait for the sales. Having said that ours is an adjustable bed and has 2 single mattresses set in the frame so we have single sheets and superking duver cover - we thought we'd be able to have races but found out the remotes don't work together - it's either one or the other.
The biggest problem for me is changing the duvet cover - it is massive and I'm not....and ironing them is no joy either.0 -
Unless you're over 6' and really need the extra space, I'd recommend a kingsize. I used to have a superking and frankly, they're a pain. Bedding, duvets, replacement mattresses and so on are usually very expensive and, even if you don't care about cost, the choice is pitiful compared to what's available for kingsize beds."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0

superking all the way we only have our bed in bedroom we have a separate room for drawers and furniture0

Euro King size for us (160cm wide rather than 150cm for UK King)
ikea and Habitat used to be pretty much only places you could buy these frames and mattresses (amnd bedding) but now lots more options especially on mattresses where manufacturers will make to size
if you don't want ikea sheets etc then again options with super king or extra deep king ones will fit. Just get a super king duvet as mentioned so less fighting over it
Once you have had the extra space you won't want to go back to a regular double so be warned!0 -
I find TK Maxx/Home Sense great for superking duvets and covers.0

We have a superking and I find that the superking duvets aren't really big enough widthways, especially when the dog jumps in the middle lol.0

If you have enough space for a superking then go for a superking, but make sure you go for a minimalist bed frame.
My bedroom is very small and I only had room for a king size and even then, I had to go for a frame which was the same size as the mattress - any large wooden frames wouldn't have fitted. The only decent one I could find that fitted was this one:

As others have said, if you go for a king then get 2 single or 1 superking duvet.0 -
Superking, no question!!
Best of all is when the Mrs is away overnight and I can sleep solo, in starfish formation, in the superking! Oh my!
Needn't be expensive - ours is very solid, real wood, cost £50 including a mattress. How come? People buy them, then when they move house can't fit them in the new place, so they go for a song on ebay. Bedding - BHS often have deals, or go to your local commercial laundry who do hotel laundry, they will sell you superking sheets cheaply, or if you don't mind 10 minutes with a needle and cotton they often sell damaged superking sheets for like £2ish (often the damage is near the edge though). When we were down to pennies in the bank once, I made a superking duvet case from 2 such sheets - it did years of sterling service!0 -
We went Superking...never going back. I am a wriggler so it was mainly to save my boyfriend getting sleep-deprived but it's the best. Buy the most expensive you can afford - we got a posh handmade mattress with different tensions on each side - hard for him, medium-soft for me.0
