Kingsize or Superking bed?

Moving in with my girlfriend for the first time and wondering what bed to buy?

I currently have a double and find it hard to sleep when she stays over. Its just the rooms a bit tight for a Super.

Any experiences?

  • If a double is too small and there isn't really the space for a super, surely a king is the best option?! Why not go along to some shops together, armed with your rom measurements, and try lying on different beds.

    The room is 3.1 m by 3.7

    Super is 2m by 1.8 m

so will fit but be very bed heavy.

No correct answer to that one :P

Why not buy a better quality mattress on the king as a nice compromise?

    Less space, more comfort.

    How big are you both?

I'm 5ft 10in and my wife is 5ft 7in. We are both about average build and weight.

We have found a king size bed (5 feet wide 6 feet 6 inches long mattress) fine for over 30 years.

Unless you are bigger than us, a king size should be fine.

Buy a kingsize but a super king duvet - no fighting about who has all the covers.
