Hi everyone,

@Al Ross – TopCashback is about earning commission on a sale, rather than the specifics of the purchase you are making. However, I would perhaps feedback to the retailer directly about how this is listed on their actual website.

@Jamie987 – If you can email me at mse@topcashback.co.uk I can help you out with this.

Best wishes,
Matt

I've had a claim move from pending at £80 (For a Samsung Galaxy S9 deal), to confirmed at zero.

Is this normal? I can't remember having any other issues similar to this in the past.

Hi Matt,

As I said, I went through TopCashBack to take out a Chrome Credit Card (Part of Vanquis). I was immediately accepted on line, all done or so I thought. A few minutes later I get a phone call regarding my application and after being asked the same questions again I was told I was accepted and would receive my Credit Card a few days later.

I in fact received a Vanquis Credit Card instead.

So Matt, please answer me this do I qualify or not for the £30 Cashback or not.

Hey everyone,

@jaymz84 – If this is confirmed at zero it would suggest that we are not eligible for the cashback. If this was with a retailer that only awards cashback to new customers and you were existing this may explain it but if not please do lodge a claim so we can raise this with the tracking network.

@ Al Ross – We will only be awarded the commission if we were deemed as the referrer of the purchase and this is normally only when the order is fully completed online.

@Jamie987 – Cheers, I will get back to you before the day is out.

Best wishes,
Matt

Hi Matt, not only have you failed to answer my question, but you have also missed the point, it is the Topcashback Website that needs to change its way of punting the Chrome/Vanquis Credit Cards for earning Cashback. There is no problem on the Vanquis website. In fact they told me to inform you that you need to inform customers they may not be sent the card they apply for and hence will get a big fat Zero Cashback.

P.S if you say Vanquis are at fault here, then surely it is Topcashback who needs to remedy this with scenario with them to stop it happening with other innocent customers.

why people still use you i will never know as you are coning people out of there cashback and there seems to be nothing people can do to prove that they are owned there said cashback.

there is no way of us proving that you have kept cashback that is owned to people and you play on that big time.

quidco never gets the bad press that you get and that is because they pass on cashback that is owned to people not keep it like no doubt you do and tell people that you never got the cashback when in fact you did.

you really need looking at and ofcom really needs to look at your ads and get them banned as i would call it miss selling on your part.

I do not think that's fair. Quidco had bad presses as well when they had a representative here. Nobody bothered to complain any more since it left as they wouldn't be heard any way. That's even worse compared with TCB who continue to help people here. Given the choice between you can get help or you cannot, it guess even 3 year old can make the decision which to use.

Both Quidco and TCB uses the same referral network. In my experience, whether you can get cashback is largely down to the retailer. If you have problem to track with one, you will have problem with the other as well. I experimented the same retailers through TCB and Quidco and get the same success rate for both. For example, Superdrug always tracks for me for both while Wilko often does not in either (claims are all successful though for both).

So as far as I am concerned, either using Quidco or TCB is really down to the service or the offer either of them is running at the time. If you are not happy with one, you simply chose the other.

Both TCB/Quidco discourage customers to contact retailers directly. But sometimes, if you has large amount missing and TCB/Quidco cannot resolve it, it makes sense to contact retailers directly. TCB/Quidco's relationship with retailer is B2B which enjoys a lot less protection than your relation with retailers, which is B2C.

Hi there

After having other valid claims turned down in the past am always diligent about deleting caches and only adding to basket once through TCB etc etc etc!

This is a new type of failure though. It didnt track so I raised a case only to be told that the merchant had stated they weren't the last place i visited.

Then the merchant had the nerve to ask them to review them on Trust Pilot. When I stated not to use through TCB as they didn't payout I got the following response:

It appears the incorrect order/company has been reviewed because Top Cash Back is not a service we provide and the order in question relates to a xxx xxx ordered on x/xx/xx.

So who is lying here? TCB or Currys Partmaster?

Hey everyone,

Al Ross – What we do is display each retailer on our site and how much commission would be eligible. What we can’t do is put on there what may or may not happen in the purchase process. However, should the retailer feel it is something they would like to display they will discuss this with us through their tracking network as with other terms and conditions agreed.

@rich_shot2003 – There’s no conning involved. To keep things sort, we can pass on the cashback as long as we get it ourselves. If we don’t this is when we need to decline the cashback.

I am sorry you feel other cashback sites don’t get any upset or frustrated members. As @QSK has mentioned unlike others, including the one you mention we have decided to keep this MSE Q&A thread open.

Even though we have had our fair share of people sharing frustrations when things don’t go to plan, we are happy to deal with this and reply openly and honestly in a public way.

Why we do this? We are proud of the service we offer and can be very certain that we offer you the best service we can provide.

@veryintrigued – The declined reason provided is given to us from the tracking network and normally this is down to cookies and other means of someone getting credited for referring the purchase which can include speaking over the phone about the order, collecting in store and the order being put through as a new one rather than a fresh one and voucher code usage including the normal one about cookies.

Due to this being information about a competitor we can’t get the exact cause of this but I hope this explains this declined reason a little bit more.

Best wishes,
Matt
