NEVER accept Paypal with an unconfirmed address. Make sure your auction terms and conditions require all addresses to be confirmed.
i have sent to loads of unconfirmed addresses but only if they are eligible for seller protection, unfortunately this one isn't.
the buyer has said that he is prepared to wait 10 days while i withdraw the money but will that protect me from chargeback?

also can i open a nochex account and get him to pay by that expecting a greater level of protection?

if yes are the rates they charge similar to those of paypal?

lots of questions, i know but props will be given (not the movie set kind ;))

hi, i have just sold a phone on eBay the highest bidder is a new user with no feedback and has had his account for 4 days.

he paid straight away by paypal (no charge ;) ) and is obviously unconfirmed, i have buyer protection upto £500 but wondered if there are any precautions i need to take?

Just going back to the original question, if there was no charge from Paypal for the transaction it would suggest the payment was funded from cash held in the buyers account ot drawn from a linked bank account. Either way these are both the equivelent of cash payments! For anything else Paypal like to make lots of money.

NO they are NOT the equivalent of cash payments. Any Paypal payment can potentially be withdrawn up to 180 days after being sent.

No waiting 10 days offers you almost no protection at all - only the small comfort that Ebay automated fraud detection system would have had time to warn you if it detected a problem with the transaction or it didnt clear.

Yes, NoChex is a guaranteed payment. No signup should be required for Payments of up to £100 (£300 if you request it). Rates are less than PrayPal
