Thought this was a money saving forum?

Are you mad or just have lots of disposable income?

Anything under £800 would be a budget TV.
I'm retiring at 55. You can but dream.

I have a friend who spent nearly 2 grand on a tv less than a year ago. I asked what was so good about it that he had to shell out so much and he told me he just wanted the best that there was out there. I wasn't too interested in the details so did not push him any further but he did say it was a 55 inch screen. I have now seen 40 inch plus 3d tvs going for less than 300 quid so am now curious again if a slight increase in screen size can put so much on the retail price? Apart from being 3d and smart what other features would the creme de la creme tvs have these days?
