Good deal for o2 broadband sellout to sky?

I'm sorry they've sold it on. A couple of people I know who have/had sky had quite poor experiences and the reviews I looked at online are quite poor. I think I'll be having to move elsewhere.

Those people are the exception as Sky's broadband is brilliant imho.

I was with O2 for many years but jumped ship last summer. I connect around 15% faster (same physical line) and there's no contention or throttling, just like O2. I download several 100 gig a month.

Completely free for my first year as well, apart from phone line rental.

We're with O2 and will be transferred to Sky.

However, would prefer to go with a company which offers fibre optic speeds. In our area there are 3 companies - Sky, BT and Plusnet. Plusnet offer the fastest speeds but have heard poor reviews about them.

I'm assuming that we'll hear from O2 before the transfer is complete, when I change would like to decide whether to go with Sky or change to one or other fibre optic suppliers.

Since Sky, Plusnet and BT use the same BT fibre network, the speeds should not be any different. It's the same BT Wholesale FTTC product regardless.
