    Anyone? :)

I went through a broker who provided details of expenditure. No evidence required.

I did provide payslips as proof of income

Yeah, I believe that must have happened in my case.

I got asked to provide proof of deposit so had to send them my bank statement. Partner wasn't asked to provide hers.

At what stage did they request the proof of deposit? I'm waiting for my survey to be done but am hoping for a quick completion as the vendors are threatening to withdraw because they want a quick sale! If it's asked for at UW stage then I can provide it in advance to prevent further delays.

They may not request it. If it is plausible for you to have the amount then they probably won't ask, i.e if you had sold/selling another property or have reasonable savings in relation to age/income.

Are you uing a broker or going direct?

Out of interest, if I contacted VM directly, would they provide me with an update in terms of the status of the application, even though I am with a broker?

Ask your broker for an update.

If they say it is in underwriting don't be surprised.
