  • Bit of a quiet day for me today, another £2.55 for some amigurumi eyes, but nothing else as yet.

Have been going mad with decorating and baking, so the house is good, but nothing made to sell, I could do with another 24 hours each day!

Will go and clean up the fishtank now to get onto facebook selling pages ready for the weekend.

Right, I'm going to stop being a wuss and either do a yard sale or go to a bootsale this weekend! I really can't get over this embarrassment about doing a yard sale, but this new job is costing me so much money in petrol so I absolutely need to do something to get some £££ in my pocket now. I'm leaning towards the yard sale as we will save ourselves the journey (an hour in total) as well as loading and uploading the car and petrol. We already have a car boot sale float that we keep at all times, and I can do a few signs and post it to Facebook tomorrow. Any thoughts?

emma, I would just do the yard sale, saves on petrol costs. Make sure doors and windows are locked and don't let anyone use your toilet!

Last year my friend offered to come and do one with me in my tiny front garden :)

so bite the bullet, put it on fb, but don't post your address, tell people they have to contact you and go for it!

I live opposite a shop so it is easy enough to use that as a landmark! I'm quite excited - do you recall how well you did from yours? We can probably get more stuff out than at a bootsale (honestly, I've got so much 'carboot tat' that hasn't sold on eBay for 2 years) as I've got a longish driveway and 6 wallpapering tables. Could be a good thing!

    Hi
Just had £3.77 in from an eBay sale.

Does anyone if there is any way of reducing the amount PayPal deduct each time?

    Hi ya,

If you are receiving under £9 for your items .... I would suggest you open a paypal micropayments account ... you will pay less fees ..

Open this account " alongside " your " normal paypal " account ....

You will need to be a verified premier or business customer to open one .... ( I think most people are premier customers now ? )

There is a bit more info on here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4488421

If you go into your paypal account and type in " micropayments " it should bring up all the info for you ...

Just ordered 2 x £5 Amazon vouchers from swagbucks; Morrisons are sending a £10 money off voucher; found a £10 expired Next voucher which can be re-validated. All good but may take a while to come in!

Haven't got round to changing up my foreign currency yet; that's the next job (won't be next week as I am on a course all week and will have homework in the evenings!)
