Free listing for EASTER

As for th elisting costs, I have never seen anything other than '£0 ' when listing on the free listings for the past few years, if it doesn't say my listing will be free I go back and check what it is that I have inadvertently ticked or overlooked.
Hmmmm, that's odd.
Every time there is a free listing day, I list about 20 things.
I then get taken to the fees page which always shows a fee (say 8.00 or so)
In small writing near that, it says ''price is indicative and may not apply'' (or something to that effect...Can't remember the exact wording)
I then click confirm, and the £8.00 is crossed out and replaced with £0.00.
It's always been this way for me, and the same with my brother.
That's why I was caught out this morning. It said 7.00, but I expected it to get crossed out to zero after hitting confirm like it always does on free days.
Can anyone else confirm whether they have these same issues on free listing days??0 -

I get such happy, positive feedback all the time, that I had no idea I was 'below standard'!
If they think my postage charges are too high, then they shouldn't bid on my items, surely??!
No, it doesn't work like that and you have unfortunately proved why it doesn't work. A buyer might want something and think the postage a bit steep, but buy it and then leave you less than 5* as compared to other sellers you are not as 'good' with your p and P.
We have a user at the moment who says she rarely ever left a 5*, more usually a 3 or 4* without realising what damage ti can do. In your instance as you have no 1 or 2* it means a higher number than average buyers have dropped you at least 1 *, to maintain standing we need our buyers to leave a 5* in most cases.
At the moment though you need to minimise the risk of getting restricted here, so go and check out the expanded dashboard thread:

On the subject of the thread title, I relisted 40-50 items for 3 days yesterday and (since there is a maximum of 100) have the headroom to relist everything unsold again, on Monday evening for 7 days. Relisting twice, over the weekend, effectively gives me two bites of the same cherry.
Being as the weather isn't great, eBay may be quite busy this Easter. Private sellers with relatively few items to sell may find relisting the same item, several times, for 1 day at a time may prompt more interest than listing once for 7/10 days. Unless I click on the help or ? button I have never been taken to an ebay fees page when listing on any of my accounts. On the final page before I list I get a breakdown of fees showing listing fees, any extras like extra photos or a second category and below that I get a confirm button. Ther eis no way at all I would be listing if they only gave me an indicative fee, I want to know exactly what I am paying before I confirmI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I just couldn't work up the enthusiasm this time, I haven't even listed much new stock on my business account.
I am selling stuff on my business account, but only during a slim window of time each evening between about 8.30- 11.30 and nothing outside those times- which is weird.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sorry, I think I meant the final page before listing where it gives you the breakdown of the fees, as opposed to the 'Ebay fees page'.
Everything else applies though - It shows me a price which it crosses out after I 'confirm'.
Regarding my 'below standard' dashboard.
Am I supposed to just sell things with free postage/packaging for a few months now to get me average back up? And if I do, i'll have to increase the price of the my items0 -

I understand your point, but buyers don't like paying over the odds for postage - even when they really like the item.
The fact that eBay specifically prompts buyers to reward (or punish) sellers via the p&p charges DSR makes it very easy for an otherwise good seller to fall down on this aspect.
Put simply, underselling items and overcharging on p&p to make up the difference is a high risk strategy, which may make sales in the short-term but incurs a significant risk of longer term DSR damage."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

If you read some of the first posts on the expanded seller dashboard thread it will explain it all. You need to check your averages by running reports as well.
Basically though you want to sell with free postage (or postage at less than stamp price) for a while, keep running reports until the trend towards leaving only 5* is apparent. Once you have reversed the trend and you are above 4.6 you will get your standard rating back at the next review.
After that just make sure you watch your stars, you can't afford to let this happen- so as soon as you start showing issues take action to stop it.
As a private seller it isn't as though you have a lot of stock to reprice, so you can work this on a one by one basis. However, depending on your expanded dashboard you may have to start reversing it quickly to avoid being restricted as once that heppens it is easy to lose your account. So free postag eon light goods for a while, then maybe subsidised postage and see how it goes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Once a month, the 20th I believe (I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong)
Your issue may be that until you run reports you won't know if your trend is going down or up, if it is going down you may have to start dealing with this as a matter if urgency.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
