Another tactic my dad used once on my sister involved using a joke hairy spider. He rushed in, dropped it on her pillow and then yelled 'Stay still while I grab that H-U-G-E spider near your face'. That had her out of bed and across her room faster than lightning. The air turned blue when she realised she had been tricked.

It only worked the once mind, she was clearly way less gullible than me.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Alarms annoy the living hell out of me...weirdly that used to help me get up. As soon as it went off i'd be straight out of bed :D My teenage siblings are pretty good at getting up, they usually get themselves up for 6th form/work.

I make myself a cup of tea and take it back to bed, but on the way I go into my DDs room and turn her radio on quietly. Half an hour later her alarm clock goes off to wake her up properly. But then she goes on her laptop to update her blogs, so she doesn't always remember to get out of bed to get dressed - so then I have to remind her that if she is late too often her dad will block her internet access in the morning, which usually gets her moving again!
