Its been trying hard to snow all day, but thankfully no came to much, hopefully it will stay that way. Been to work to look at shifts, so have put myself down for 2 half days next week, start back week on Thursday:eek:
I am starving, just realised I haven't eaten today, so veg and cheesy bake is almost ready in the oven and cooked a turkey roast I found in the freezer, will either have the leftovers tomorrow or DD can take them to work for lunch. Car cleaned out, spare key and registration papers found ready for tomorrow, so time to eat and then relax with the kindle after the news!
    RIP Iain

Hi Ya chums Had a lovely day with my youngest DD.we had a nice lunch out courtesy of vouchers which was great and free :):) but blimey its cold today.Wind just cuts through like a knife.

My DGS Ben is fed up with life at the moment he is in the lower 6th and working really hard in his first year of his A levels, he is doing four, so quite a bit of work.He came home today with a face as long as a gas-mans mac saying his teacher was complaining because he hadn't passed his IFS second module .When I asked him what an IFS exam was apparently its something thats been thought up in the past few years since the credit crunch for youngsters to take (compulsorily)so they can manage their financial affairs.
Now bearing in mind that the boy does a paper round every other week and only earns £44 per month and when he leaves school in 15 months time his ambition is to enlist in the armed forces I personally can't see why they are heaping yet another exam on him on top of his A levels. To retake it his Mum (who isn't terribly flush with cash at the moment ) has to fork out £30.00 before September so he can retake this totally unnessesary exam.I feel quite sorry for him as its not as though he is not working his socks of anyway
I think perhaps the school are just ticking boxes and want more grade to push their rating up,but perhaps its just me being cynical
Right enough of my moaning I'm off to have a light supper as I'm still full up from lunchtime
Hope you are all keeping warm, when will this dreadful weather end I wonder
    Cheers chums JackieO xx

TTFTM: Go on. Give the 5:2 diet a go. I've been on it for nearly 3 months now. I've saved oodles of pounds from NOT going to WeightWatchers, quite a lot of money from my food bill, don't have to cook 2 days a week, find it very doable and one more pound and I've lost a stone. What's not to like?

Any news on the babbieanimated-smileys-babies-007.gif yet?

Had a baking day today and am trying out new recipes using minute amounts of sugar, flour and fat. I made some lovely chocolate brownies that are made with ground almonds and walnuts so I have bagged them up for when nothing but a chocolate fix will do, much better than grabbing for something that will send my glucose off the chart.
We had lamb curry for dinner tonight and it was lovely. DH is taking me to get some more legs of lamb and beef joints in Asda tomorrow. I also want to pick up another couple of turkey crowns from Aldi to put away
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Evening all, not been around O/S in a little while. It was the first of my two days off today, so I tidied the lounge and was sorting out my PDP folder with my qualifications from work when I came across an old gas meter top up card that had slipped inside it. I tried it to see if it worked and there was £20 on it! That's my heating paid for, for a bit! Currently watching British Bake Off: Easter Masterclass, I want to bake/ eat everything on there! Am about to crochet some more granny squares to make up a throw I am making.
