Hello everybody and hugs to Halight and PennyPincher and anyone else who needs one.
Well this morning it has been having snow flurries but is now brilliant sunshine. Frankly I wish it'd make up it's mind..... Don't think I posted yesterday (can't remember). This new drug regimen is not going well. I've fallen back from a triple increase to just a double as I'm getting the side effects although they are easing a bit now - or maybe I'm just getting used to them or spotting them early so can take the right course of action.... Last night I was so whacked out I had a toast topper for dinner and OH used up the last of the sausages for sausage on toast...Then he had to write his presentation for his management course and I had to listen to it, three times.......TBQH it was okay as I was only in bed listening to the radio all evening. Today I am a bit more organised and have a veggie chilli defrosting..... Might try some smoked mackrel pate I got on offer for lunch....
I've not had any work this morning and it was the same yesterday.Only got work in the afternoon when my head was lifting so that wasn't much fun. However I've been able to catch up on some letter writing and have just posted a letter to the States. I weighed it on my scales and it was within the 10 g limit so I just popped an 87p stamp on it left over from Christmas and popped it in the post box across the road. One thing that really annoys me with my local main post office is that I weigh stuff and yet magically when I get there it's always gone up into the next pay band. It doesn't happen at the little sub PO I use sometimes. So either me and the Sub PO have got dodgy scales or..... I've got a few more to write as well but I think I might type them this afternoon as I can feel myself going whoozy and there are quite a few...
Hoping to finish my Christmas cross stitch in the next couple of days and then I can crack open the Daffodil panel! Yay!But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
I will admit to putting it off
PenPin many thanks for posting the pics of the splints; I don't think they'll solve the problem for me, tbh; with doing the dog-sitting, I have to wash my hands numerous times during the course of the day, so really I need to find something that will support my wrists, but not come up over the palms of my hands.
Anyways, I need to put Mary outside for a wee, then give her some lunch - may be back later.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Can the hospital arrange an assement for her while she's there, to see what she needs & what she is not able to do for herself? I know my in-laws were offered a care package for MiL when she was in hosp, but that was in Scotland (and they refused it  so we're just letting them carry on until the next crisis which they cannot manage by themselves).
Keeps trying to snow here on the Lancashire coast - only a few flakes here & there though, it's too windy to stick and anyway "it never snows here" :rotfl: I have photos to prove it does!
Am planning a baking session tonight & tomorrow morning to take into work as its my birthday at the weekend when we're all off. Think I'll do raspberry brownies, chocolate-dipped ginger biscuits and some eclairs, then what's left can come home for me & DH
I've found out I have been shortlisted for a baking competition at the Cake & Bake show on Friday 5th April in Manchester - I just got the email to say my recipe has been selected :j Am getting a bit nervous now...:o0 -
Do you really want me to come and put a foot behind you to make you get to the Doctor??

Sorry to hear that you are not have a good time of it,
I don't know about you. But I feel better being ill, At night. When there is no one around. I find it hard to be ill, when my wife and kids are around. Maybe its a man thing???:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Well,
I been to the Blucher, And got the meat that we needed/wonted.
I came back and had a coffee.
While I was having my coffee, I got to thinking what ton have for dinner tonight,
In the end I decided On home made beef burgers,
I have made them to the recipe In the Jamie's ministry of food cook book that we have .
Do any of you remember when that was on the telly ? He was showing people that could not cook how to cook ? Well the cook book to the TV show is quite good, Lost's of normal everyday food In there.
Anyway burgers are all made and ready for cooking tonight. We shall have some scram egg and chips with them tonight.
Have a good after noon all :j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

I know what you mean about not wanting to appear ill around the Other Half - I feel that Mr LW does so much for me already, I don't want him to feel he's got to do any more, hence I push myself to do stuff that probably I shouldn't.
And of course, when he's at work, I've just got to jolly well get on with it - f'r instance, if Mary needs to go outside, then I've got to lift her, carpal tunnel notwithstanding.:o
She's eaten her lunch (that little dog really does love her food!) and is snoozing, thankfully. Having to have newspaper all over the floor isn't easy - Mary trails her back right leg, so she keeps rucking up the paper, and I've nearly broken my neck a couple of times already catching my feet in it; but it does save me some soggy carpets.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all
Well it's been a busy day today so this is my first chance to get online today!
I have been putting it off but I am going to HAVE to do more cutting out of paper for the WI Origami class! I hate doing it as it is so monotonous and it gives me a bad neck and thumping headache from having to lean over the paper-cutter - but I only have about 2 weeks and I have to prepare kits for 25 people so I'll just need to grit my teeth and get on with it. One of my ebay items sold last night (only for 99p, but it is 99p more than I had before)
Tea tonight is tuna pasta - but someone mentioned pancakes earlier in today's thread.... so now I'm considering having dessert too....
We've had a bit of light powdery snow but nothing that has stuck around - so still feeling REALLY lucky. ALSO feeling really lucky that I don't live in Cyprus!! Some of those poor people could have just had their life savings frozen and taxed to death!!!!
Well wishes to those who are not feeling 100%.Lightbulb moment: -£9,954.31 Current Debt: £0

Afternoon all,
Another mad busy day, feel like I've been listening to stupid music on the phone for most of it. HSBC are being pains in the @rse with regard to my debt Management Plan. Everyone else is ok, accepting payments and happy to freeze interest, I shall not give in.
Hugs for those who are poorly or have poorly relatives.
I've never had so many health issues as I have since Christmas and its made me realise how awful it is to be in pain. Hopefully my problems can be solved, toothache now on more antibiotics, very sore stiff knee, still waiting for appointment. But I know some of you have to live with the pain forever, I take my hat off to you.
My boy has another major ear infection so antibiotics bit orally and drops along with pain killers. He still managed to get to 6 th form with his woolly hat on and cotton wool in his ear:eek: he hates it. Roll on 17 th April when he sees the specialist.
Middle boy enjoyed his first day at work. Mainly housekeeping at the moment so health and safety etc but he made me laugh and said that the trainer is very like David Brent and is called David, he is going to have to try not to say the wrong name:rotfl: everyone else thought the same, I've told him to be good:A
I've notice a few of you having risotto but have never tried to make it. Does anyone have a fail safe recipe? Thanks in advance.
Oh and I spoke to the council about my cavity wall insulation, they have a scheme called gov green deal and it looks like we may qualify, fingers crossed.
Anyway need to get on, have a good day and stay warm xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Floss Thanks for that. I got my dad assessed when he was in hospital, but I know what MIL will say like your in-laws "No Way". She is 92 but fiercely independant so I think if we can sort something out it will have to do. Trouble is OH lives an hour and a half away, and I live another hour and a half further on, so if he is with me, it's a three hour journey both ways.
Just a few miles! As he is the only son it's all down to him, but she's such a lovely lady it's worth it.:T
Made a pot of chilli with my last mince, having some tonigh and frozen the rest. I am determined to run my stores down now. Very difficult when Approved foods keep sending me interesting emails:rotfl:I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Good Afternoon.
Still freezing here though the sun struggled to come through this afternoon. It needn't have bothered, it made no difference to the temperature.
Fortunately I don't have to go out today. Spent this a.m. re-organising the ex-dining room, now the Drop-in's stockroom. Managed to make enough room to drag all the stuff from the Breakfast room into the dining room. Now I have to sort out the BR.
Everywhere I look there are piles of STUFF, mostly the Rev's. She is the untidiest person imaginable. She had a clerical shirt delivered today and when she left the living room the wrapping paper from the parcel was on the sofa, the box was in the armchair, the tissue paper was heaped up on the floor, the invoice and paperwork were on the coffee table and the shirt itself was hanging on the doorknob with the dog collar clinging to it for dear life.:mad::mad:
Fast day today so no cooking, although I must do some for tomorrow. We have a nun friend coming for lunch. As it's Holy Week I'm guessing she will be on some sort of spartan eating regime so am going to make some HM bread, HM leek and potato soup and, in case she's not into too much self denial, a rhubarb crumble with custard.:D
Halight: Was that really you saying that you admit to putting off visiting the doctor's? Do you know, we'd never have guessed.
TTFTM: Go on. Give the 5:2 diet a go. I've been on it for nearly 3 months now. I've saved oodles of pounds from NOT going to WeightWatchers, quite a lot of money from my food bill, don't have to cook 2 days a week, find it very doable and one more pound and I've lost a stone. What's not to like?
