No personal attacks here, but I'd be really really interested to know (as an old biddy) why designer gear is so important to have.

As someone else commented, I can't understand why people would pay £150 when you could buy the same (unbranded) item for about £5.

I tried a genuine pair of seven jeans on in a top store. I wasn't impressed at all - poor fit and low grade denim.

I do think sometimes that there is a difference in quality with some items when you pay a little more. Would I pay designer prices though? Nope. However supplying people with designer items is a nice little earner, so I think its great.
  • Thanks to Myrna Minkoff for that valuable information. I have checked them thoroughly and it appears they are real ones. I've never had a pair of designer jeans before and just thought I would check it out. Personally I'm quite pleased with myself as I've just saved myself £109 (not that I'd ever have spent that amount in the first place)!!
After all, it's all about money saving, and how much money has been saved is relevant to the individual of course.

No problem! I checked mine too and they're fake! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Id never pay £150 for any jeans or any piece of clothing, i wouldnt even pay 40 odd pound for a pair of jeans, the £5 or less jeans you get from asda are adequate enough,

surely everyone is entitled to do and buy what they like with THEIR money without being judged? Just because you can't see why people are doing or buying something, doesn't mean you should judge them for it? different things are important to different people
nothing to see here, move along...

I don’t think anyone is judging anyone else, we are all just commenting and expressing our opinions.

MSE is first and foremost a money saving site and in my opinion spending £150, or even £41 on a cheaply made low quality pair of jeans cannot be considered to be money saving.

How does a bit of pink embroidery turn a £2 pair of jeans into a £150 pair?

In my experience and opinion, most buyers of expensive “designer” tat are vacuous airheads. The only people who actually recognise that a particular pair of jeans are a “designer” pair are other vacuous airheads.

So, if you want to impress vacuous airheads, go ahead and buy and wear £150 jeans.

Otherwise buy a well made, high quality and long lasting pair from ASDA or Tesco for £3.

    That is money saving.

No offence intended to vacuous airheads. :)
