Hi, I had a parking fine in January for leaving my car parked at the pub overnight. I did not pay and have now received a solicitors letter from gpb, saying they will take legal action if they do not receive payment. Advice please!!!

Ignore it.
Does such a solicitor exist or is it just the parking company with the letter head. Google it.
And then ignore it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
GPB exist - http://www.gpbsolicitors.co.uk/
However, who issued the original ticket and are they on the BPA AOS list that allows them to get your details?
Either way, this is not any kind of "fine" and can be ignored or defended if they are mad enough to take it further.0 -

Just another solicitor firm issuing 'debt collector letters' as a sideline. That's all it is, just like the way Graham White lend their name to Roxburghe debt collectors.
Ignore it but please tell us which PPC is using this new letter chain, and can you possibly scan a copy of all the letters you have had and send them to Crabman by pm (you'll need to break the links by removing the http from the front). Or you could post them here for us to see - just cover the date, location, refs, barcode, car reg.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The ticket was issued by Local Parking Security. I will get on the case of scanning the letters for you. I originally had a ticket on my window when I went to collect the car in the morning, a reminder letter from LPS then the above mentioned one. Thanks for your help!0

This isn't a new letter chain. LPS are already in the letter chain thread using gpb, albeit pre- oct 2012 but I doubt much has changedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Good point, they are indeed listed here already:

Nowt to worry about - it's their usual letter chain of rubbish.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Happytohelp88 wrote: »Please be aware, GPB afre LPC solicitors. You have admitted you didnt pay, they normally take photos of the car to show a fine was issued. If it was issued correctly and you didnt pay for a ticket then you need to pay it. People used to dispute them& say they wasnt driving and they had no legal right to provide details of the drivers but since Oct 2012 a new Law/Guidline has been introduced that there is more security for the owners of the land and you will be liable to provide details of the driver now, which before Oct 2012 this was only legally required under a Criminal Act. By law you enter into an agreement when parking your car in a private car park and agrre to the terms by parking there.
Do you have a valid dispute?
The balance may only be £78 but theses cases do go to Court depending on LPS instrcutions.
What utter bollox.0
