Free phone line installation

I'm still desperately trying to get a useful response to this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4337741
Can't find anyone offering broadband for short-term lets at a reasonable cost. The issue always seems to be the line rental and the cost of installation which isn't worthwhile for shorter contract lengths.
Anyone else got any bright ideas? Any phone companies currently offering free installation? What about a business line?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Why start another thread, you have already been told in the other that no one will give you free installation and cheap line rental for a short term contract they would be subsidising you which is simply not financially viable0

You've had several 'useful' responses on your original thread. Just not ones telling you what you want to hear.
If you want a short term contract with no existing line, then you will have to pay more accordingly. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I'm starting a new thread because there have been several companies offering free installation before. I missed my chance last time but it doesn't mean I won't get another chance. I don't know of any currently but am not ruling out the possibility.
In addition, I don't think it's impossible that the situation has changed since my last thread. Things are change very quickly and if anyone knows of a company catering for all of us who need short term broadband I'd love to hear about it.0 -
Free installation is not the issue. Even BT will do that. The issue, as you've been told on your original thread, is that to get it, you have to take a 12m or 18m contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

You could take out a mobile contract that allows tethering and unlimited data which may end up being cheaper than a short term landline contract.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

You want it short term.
In your other thread on this subject you said you wanted a monthly contract, but could go upto 3 months.
That was posted in december and now we are in march, so how long do you want the contract for now?Owing on CC £00.00 :j

Just get a dongle.0

Not possible - I've tried every network on a dongle. Even though I am in a large city centre I find it hard to get 1 Mbps reliably. It's also completely useless for torrenting which I require regularly for work. You could take out a mobile contract that allows tethering and unlimited data which may end up being cheaper than a short term landline contract.
As above. That was my first thought but I've yet to find anyone who can use a dongle reliable for high-speed internet. Why only a short term contract? You could move the services to your next property for free.
My next property will in all likelihood already have a broadband contract.
Also, I often need to go away for a month or two at a time and don't want to pay for service in that time.yoxford2008 wrote: »You want it short term.

I have moved sine. I could still stretch to 3 months if someone will give free line rental at these lengths of time.0 -
You seem to want the moon on a stick. For free.
It's already been pointed out in your other thread that you won't get a short term broadband deal without paying to have a line installed.0 -
Is asking for less than £35/month for any form of internet the moon on a stick? I don't think it's that ludicrous especially as the vast majority of the fee is for a massively overpriced installation fee that takes 15 minutes. Who has the money to pay this much for internet when living alone on top of heating bills, phone bills, electricity, water, council tax, etc.?0
