Brilliant. Somebody injures themselves and finds time to ask questions about it on an internet forum rather than seeking medical assistance.

Just hope you never see somebody getting badly injured. I can imagine the conversation:

"I am bleeding badly. Will you help me"
'Hold on I am just going to log on to various forums and see how random strangers can help. If they suggest so, I may call an ambulance for you"

I fell down the stairs, slipped down half a flight and was lucky all I got was bruising....

Did the same at work once however and ripped the muscles in my shoulder

Bit of an exaggeration don't you think!! The OP had hurt her ankle but could still put weight on it - therefore did not want to rush straight up to a+e for what could be (and turned out to be) a sprain - can't really be compared to someone bleeding out on the ground can it!!

THANKYOU MISSARAH151, that is exactly what I didn,t want to do.

As explained it happened at 3.30 on sunday and didn,t go to a & e until 7 pm last night. I was thinking of much more needy people than myself.

    Some people.......

As briefly explained, I wanted a little advise and we where 100% sure I hadn,t broken my ankle and felt for other people who needed the nhs help and support more than myself.

Don,t forget this is what moneysavingexpert forum is all about at the end of the day. Getting advise from people who was been through similar situation.

If my head was falling of my neck or god forbid, major car accident , then of course this is TOTALLY different.

We chat about all sorts of things in this section, not every thread has to be about moneysaving which is just a name. HTH

    Happy moneysaving all.

"According to the forum rules, those "all sorts of things" should not include asking for (or giving) medical advice:
    Medical advice
This is a MoneySaving site. If you have a medical problem, please use NHS Direct or go to your doctor. This forum, and the Health, Beauty and Fashion board in particular, are not the place to discuss it.

I am glad the OP did the sensible thing and went to the hospital to get X-rayed.

Even if it's "just" a twisted ankle it can still swell up alarmingly large and turn purple. I did mine about a year ago and I was signed off work for a fortnight and told in no uncertain terms that I couldn't drive.

The thing is the clue is in the name accident and emergency. You had an accident and from what you have described had a perfectly legitimate reason to go to A and E. I don't know what health provision is like around where you live, but if you have a MIU, then they are great for dealing with this kind of thing, and the waits are usually shorter. Hope it heals well. get plenty of rest :)
