Line rental charged when porting out of T-mobile

I've just got a PAC for a an out-of-contract T-mobile number. (And, yes, I do know that strictly speaking it's "out-of-minimum-term" not "out-of contract").

Their CS told me that I will be charged line rental until 30 days from using the PAC, not as I had expected for 30 days from its issue date. Are they correct and do any other networks do the same?

No they are wrong. The just are pooling a fast one and want to make some money on the leaving customer.

Their CS is giving wrong information, or the network is wrongly charging?

I don't see any difference between 'CS' and 'network'.
The network instructed the CS to apply charges that contradict the T&C and the CS keep happily doing this.
Just read the thread and follow the link inside to other threads where this was discussed to death.

But aren't the other threads about early termination charges when you port out before the end of the minimum term? I'm well beyond the minimum term.

No. All other threads are NOT about the ETC.

Ok, to put it another way, does the billing system charge in the way that CS reps tell me it does i.e. 30 days from date of PAC use?

Yes, you have to pay for 30 days, although usually it is already paid in advance. 30 days is the notice period when you are outside of your minimum term.
The problem is that often (always?) they want to charge you for 30 days plus some extra unjustified charges.

But 30 days from PAC issue or 30 days from PAC use? If it's the latter then there's no point in my leaving using the PAC as late as possible in its validity period, which I would normally do.

From issue as per the T&C.
