Please can you put me in for £210 this month. I don't think I can squeeze it any more, and we've got half term stuck at the end this month!
    Thank you.

Have managed 3NSDs and should have another one tomorrow:). Will be spending on Thursday to use my 2nd lot of Mirror vouchers at Al**. I have done a list of meat and some non perishables to see us to the end of the month with a small top up of fresh stuff every week after that. Managed to stick to my list last week and I am determined to do the same this week.

  • Hi, i just popped in to add £27.61 so far to this months challenge. Mine started from 12th April to 10th May. I may leave next months one out but still spend around £40 to £45 as i get paid every four weeks and eventually it will catch up and i will end up getting too far ahead.

  • Thanks for the kind words K9, things are always better after some sleep!
GC doing ok, DD cooked last night, we had Bulgar wheat salad with fried hallumi, yummy. Tonight was a mish mash of things out of the freezer, with salad! Budget should stretch to 3 more weekly Tesco deliveries and some bits and bobs in between.
Oooh, Tesco have online code for £5 off if you spend £25 on Italian wine, delivered on the grocery site. Combined this with last week's £5 off for spending £40. (The code shows when you add wine to basket.)

    Another NSD here.
For dinner we had HM wedges with honey roast gammon and roasted veggies - beetroot/red onions + sunburst tomatoes.

Hi all, we are a family of me and three hungry boys 3yrs,4.5yrs and 38! Due to husband having to pay big final bill from our previous supplier, as well as sons third birthday start of June (has to come out of May budget).
Really need to try and be super conscious of budget this month and would really like to get the money to cover LO'S b-day party (which having at the house to save on hire costs, heaven help me) and gifts.
Do you guys inc toiletries and cleaning products in this budget (as i do)?
Can you guys give me an idea of a weekly/monthly spend for you guys in a similar situation. My husband is a meat lover so the dinners need to at least have meat in. Also have two cats though have managed to find them non-branded items and littlest one no longer has nappies any advice well recieved as really want to make our money work for us!

Hi, my boys are 9, 7 and 42 :rotfl:this is only my second month, went over last month so determined to stick to a budget of £220 in May. We are all meat eaters with big appetites. I include all cleaning/household stuff too, haven't had to buy any toiletries but I would include soap, shower gel etc that we all use but probably wouldn't include any of my or DHs stuff like deodorant, make up (me not him!) etc as we'd buy that from our own money.
I've also got 2 cats but I buy their food in bulk online - they have a big bag of Hills vet essentials which lasts about 6/7 weeks and is around £32. I haven't included this in the food/household budget.
    Good luck!

Had to nip to Asda after work as i'd ordered my sons birthday pressie to be delivered to the store, spent £9 on bread, milk and fruit for the week. Shouldn't need anything else until the weekend now.
    Tea today was Pasta Bolognese
Weds - Lamb sausages, mash and veg
    Thurs - Pork kebabs
Fri - Chicken Jalfrezi (from Hairy Dieters recipe)
    Sat - Burgers and chips
Sun - Meat and Potato pie with veggies

Have all the ingredients for all the recipes and plenty in for lunches and breakfasts - no more shopping for me this week (she says)!

On another note I've made a sourdough starter which will (fingers crossed) be ready to use on Friday. Quite excited about it really (sad I know). Bread flour was 80p in Asda by the way for those who were talking about it.

    Night x
