Hi all, NSD today. Beef strips in smoky bbq sauce for tea with mini roasties, broccoli and carrots. Phone was on charge, so no pic. Going to aim to make a milk loaf tonight or tomorrow ready for packed lunches for the week, as DD returns to school. Hoping for a few more NSD, but i know i'll find it hard not to just pop and check YS items in C*-*p, en route from school runs.

£50 between morrisons and sains and £30 in the butcher.

Stocked up on chicken, sausages, nappies, wipes.

Made a birthday cake for dd. and a cottage pie that I've portioned up and put in the freezer.

Fruit bread and milk is needed though

I've just put this month's grocery spends into my spreadsheet.....

I had £8.39 already logged that I'd spent on 29th March for stuff ready for taking away last week

On 2nd I had a spend at Mr T, which was more stuff for taking away and some stocking up on half-price dried pasta so I could use another £5 off £40 spend voucher. That came in at £26.67 for food bits.

On 6th OH and I went to Costc0, which saw me spending another £76.96

8th was back to Mr T for the fresh stuff for taking away - and another spend of £42.70 after using vouchers. (not too bad given the original bill including some stuff OH and my DD then owed me back for came in at £80.60 before vouchers of £10.70 which were all mine).

Couldn't get a couple of bits we needed there, so nipped round to Mr A and spent a further £5.48

While away we went to the Gr@smere Gingerbread shop, where I parted with a further £20.30 !!!!

That means I've already spent £180.50 of my £203.50 budget for this month, leaving me with just £23 of this months budget :o

I know I'll spend more than that, as I've still got another trip to Costc0 to fit in (for the special offer pork steaks if nothing else, and I'm also more than eyeing up the special offer Lemon & Pepper Sole Goujons). If I ask OH to pick up the bits I want on his way here (to remove temptation of seeing anything else) the bill will probably still be around £20 just for those!

Should have enough milk in to last DS the rest of the month (stocked up on Cr@vedale for taking away, then my GDs hardly used any), and can use up supplies I have in to make my own bread - so that'll help eke out the remaining money :)

But at the end of last month I had £163.46 of my grocery budget for the first 3 months left, and I didn't allow any extra for feeding my GDs for 4 days last week (nor for bringing home food pressies for DD, 2xDS and my GDs - those alone came to £11), so I'm not worried about eating into that this month :)

  • £72.41 spent this week. I've forgotten a few bits though so I'll need to go back :o
  • Morning all,

DH & DS's decided they wanted hot dogs for tea yesterday so went out to get rolls, went to W/rose as nearest and got the hotdog rolls plus found a few other bits while I was there.

YS 12 rolls into freezer for lunches
YS mangetout for a couple of stirfrys planned for during the week (already have everything else)
also B/beans, bread, cheese and tom sauce & salad cream as all on offer (and all on list for Thurs anyway but not on offer at Sains) plus some bananas.

Spent a bit but saved a bit too!

£18.59 to add to spend total, but will be NSD today. Off to update sig and adjust Thursday's shopping list.

    Have a lovely day.
