Smokies, it was seeing how much I spent over the last year that got me on this thread too. I think cooking for one can be proportionately expensive - a £3.50 M&S lasagne doen't sound much, but it's the equivalent of a family of four spending £14 on one!
I'm a bit of a stockpiler too when things are on offer. I've got a whole cupboad full of unopened cleaning stuff and a chest full of toiletries. I must start making inroads into them and save a few quid off my weekly shop.Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

two no spend days in a row - actually I think it's three (!) but I can't remember :S
This week the shopping list looks like this:
2pints milk £0.90
bread £1.00
eggs £1.50 (does three weeks)
butter £1.00 (does three/four weeks)
oven chips £1.00 (does two weeks)
mixed veg £1.00(does two weeks)
I really fancy some mushrooms too if i can get enough for £1.00 - only me that eats them mind.
I have £14.75 for this week and the above comes to £7.40. Next week we are only around until Thursday morning as that is when we fly out to Denmark so I'm hoping to make everything last until then so as to save a little************************************

K9sandFelines I love mushrooms and will happily add them to most meals if we have them hanging around in the fridge. My main uses for them are Mushroom Risotto (we use the change4life recipe on meal mixer), added to mince dishes, in pies, thrown in my vegetable soup, mixed in to creamy sauces, making mushroom soup or just eaten as they are if I want a snack.
Meal plan for 3 weeks and huge shopping list is done. Quite happy to see that spring rolls are on offer in Aldi. Really didn't fancy having to make them from scratch, I have my limits.Jan-March: reduced monthly food bill by £400 (cancelled overdraft and started saving)
April: £112.17/£180 food budget. £9.39/£20 household. 4/15 NSD's.

March was a bit of a lean month so the stores were running decidedly low. Did myself a proper meal plan to go with the re-stocking list so I knew exactly what I needed to buy. Found myself putting all sorts of "treats" into the trolley that weren't on the list - kept kicking myself but left it in there all the same. Took it all to the checkout and the whole lot came to just over £30.
I love Aldi!
Got to pay a visit to Mr T tomorrow for some stuff that I can't get in aldi + a couple of store things I forgot to put on my list but I doubt it'll be £20 worth (unless there's some good YS bargains) so I reckon I'll be inside my £50 aim for the week.0
