I'm drooling over those wedges! Our oven is pretty pathetic, and you'd sometimes get better results blowing on it to heat it through! I do miss crispy wedges...
  • Hello everyone. I am a lapsed GC-er and DFW, back from the wilderness. I've missed you people!

I don't know why I stopped meal planning but I wish I hadn't, because it is harder than ever to make ends meet and my debt has crept up. These days I work longer hours and have an OH who lives 165 miles away, so I'm spending on petrol and rushing about. Also eating out and take aways - oooh did I mention my weight has crept up too?! Enough with the excuses, I'm back in the fold and ready to start April. I've spent £150 on a T delivery for tomorrow, and a quick shamefaced look around my kitchen tells me I have loads in if only I plan the meals. My aim is to spend no more than a total of £280 including the delivery.
  • Crikey just popped in to update my sig. Spent £100 already but will need to adjust it as £10 was a DVD and about another £10 some buckets for mr sheep which the business will pay back.. Still £80 already! It was mostly a massive stockup though with meat etc which should last well into the month..Tesc are doing free click and collect for a couple of weeks if that helps anyone do a big Everyday Value shop without being tempted by nicer(more expensive stuff in the store) sorry if already mentioned but I'm on my phone & haven't had chance to catch up on thread..
Hope everyone having a fab easter! Xx

Just done a big shop that will hopefully see us through the month, budgeted for £200 this month. Spent £40 on meat in Asda in their 3 for £10 section, after splitting it all up into bags for each day its given us over 20 days of meat. £113 spent, so got £87 for the rest of the month for fresh veg and fruit etc through the month. Heres hoping we can stick to it, thats feeding 2 adults and 2 young kids.

Splitting the meat up into separate bags for each day seems to work well. Saved us the last few weeks.

I did a weekly shop today at ald! and was shocked at the till when he said £33! That includes 3bags of cat litter (1 for my neighbour as she can't get to the shop) and things like sweets (making stain glass window cookies tomorrow) really happy with that but it's only for DD and myself :)
