Thanks DIA, I totally agree. If only most of my days were like that.....

    Weekend is sooooo close :D

    Night :)

My meal planning is going really well and I've managed to pretty much stick to it with only a couple of minor spends for food. There's been the odd time where I've forgotten to get something out of the freezer but I've just swapped it for the next nights meal if it's fresh or able to be cooked from frozen. I just need to now plan my meals ahead and buy accordingly rather than buying a load of stuff I fancy then planning on which days I'll eat it! I had my final portion of sausage and bean casserole from the freezer tonight and it was delicious so I definitely need to make more. I'm sure it's reasonably cheap too.

Good evening. Patiently waiting for the weekend to arrive cause I'm so tired. On Monday, I started tracking the amount of time I spend driving. I work in a different place everyday and my nearest place of work is 17 miles while the furthest is 33 miles away. I generally work in the same place all day but today I had a meeting so had to rush off at lunch time and quite shockingly, my total driving time today was 2 hours and 40 mins  In 3 days, I've driven for a total of 6.5 hours  No wonder I'm tired :o I can't wait to get a new job either in my hometown that I'm moving to, or one in the next town which is about 12 miles away. Fingers crossed it happens soon!

I applied for another job last night and it's one I really want. I haven't heard from the other 2 jobs and I know things take a while but I'm beginning to panic a bit that I won't get an interview, or if I do, that they think I'm crazy for giving up a well paid job for a not so well paid job and that I'll leave at the drop of a hat if I get a better offer. Hopefully they'll give me a chance :o

I saw my line manager today and as I've put her as a reference, I thought I'd better tell her my plans. She is so lovely and I needn't have worried about telling her. She was great, she understood, she knows I'm not happy and she's fine about me rearranging work if I need to go to interviews. She even gave me a hug. I shall miss her, she's a brilliant manager and has always been very fair. I think she might miss me as compared to some of my colleagues, I'm quite easy to manage, I get on with it, I don't kick up much of a fuss and she knows that I'm organised and reliable and will get it done. Anyway, such a relief that I told her :D

Things have been so up in the air in the last few months that I've felt quite unsettled, wondering what to do, how to go about it etc but after making the decision to definitely leave, I felt better. Starting to apply for jobs has also been a bit of a breakthrough and now I've told my boss, I do feel quite "peaceful" in my head. I've got a million and one things to think about still but the wheels are definitely in motion.

I'm getting my garden sorted in 2 weeks, I've got a house valuation soon but I'm still waiting for the bathroom guy to get back to me. I'll message him tomorrow but if he doesn't get back to me soon, I'll have to find someone else. I need my house to be fully decluttered, clean and tidy, estate agents chosen, photos taken so that as soon as I'm offered a job *please job God* it can go on the market. I think I need to write some lists.......:rotfl:;)

Only a quick check in tonight........I'll be back :D

  • Hi Ena, how lovely of your line manager! I know you're not happy where you are at the moment, but having a good manager makes such a difference, it must take the pressure off knowing you don't have to worry about hiding looking for a new job (which is where I am atm lol!)

Fingers crossed for you that you get some interviews, especially for the job you want :)
  • Lovely line manager. I know that you're not happy there, but I expect she makes it bearable.

Thanks ladies, yes she's lovely and I'm really not sure I would have lasted this long if she wasn't my manager :)

My grocery spends are going well this month, just cause I can't be bothered to go shopping (:rotfl:), but I don't really need to either:D I have been sticking to my meal plans and have only needed the odd thing topping up. Since 1st Feb, YNAB tells me I've only spent £38 in my groceries and household category so this is food and cleaning products, deordorant etc. I'll probably need to go shopping Monday though :o

I've got a problem with my loo constantly flushing and I've tried to fix it by watching YouTube videos but I can't figure it out. My dad is looking at it tomorrow just incase it's something easy but I'm not panicking too much thanks to my emergency fund being in place. The old me would have got in a right state wondering what it was going to cost! Broken toilet? Pah! It's no match for my trusty emergency fund :rotfl:

I made my first mug cake tonight, a syrup sponge one. So easy and quick and very yummy. Probably quite cheap too :D I don't bother with puddings a lot but just fancied one tonight and it was nice to make something with store cupboard ingredients. I won't have one every night. I WON'T! :p;)

  • Sounds like your shopping is going brilliantly. If only I had only spent £38 on food and household shopping this year!

I am crossing my fingers that the best of the bunch job offer comes soon.

Keep on keeping on and go easy on the sponge cakes (I'm just jealous) :)

Thanks DIA, I'm amazed, although the food and household spends have gone up since I last posted, I think I have spent less than usual. Still room for improvement :)
