What a lovely thing to do DIA, it's must be so exciting to receive it through the post, wondering what news it brings, and what foodie treats
The ping of an email isn't quite as exciting.......... it's probably spam
Ah thank you.I did start writing a book when I was a kid, I had all the characters and the plot roughly thought up, and a name for the book, Murder in Mind. That was as far as I got really. Years later the BBC stole the title for a drama series :rotfl: Don't they say that everyone has a book in them? Maybe one day
A late one tonight. I've been busy again, sitting on the sofa, in my pyjamas  I've started sorting some paperwork ready for filing tomorrow, it's never ending, as is the shredding. But sadly I have to report my shredder is deceased. I thought he was on the way out a few weeks ago so I left him to rest and he seemed ok today for about 2 minutes, then he went. !!!!!!! There's no coming back from this one I fear. He shall be laid to rest in the next couple of days, at my favourite place.....yep.......the tip.I've already started the painful process of replacing him although I'm reluctant to spend a lot. I've spotted one on Shp0ck for £5 but it's near where I work twice a month (25 miles away) and I'm not there until next Wednesday. If it's still for sale on Monday I shall put an offer in. Sufficient grieving time I think

I have done quite a lot of surveys today, about £9 worth which is amazing. I've also caught up with a friend, found my Christmas cards which I actually intend to send this year, tidied downstairs (kitchen and lounge) and most importantly, watched 8 episodes of Sex and the City on Now TV. Evening. I've spent all day going through my paperwork, old bank statements, receipts etc and have put things ready for shredding. I've held on to so much that there's really no need, it's just clutter. I got really overwhelmed with it all earlier, feeling like I was drowning in stuff, then I started thinking I'd never get sorted out, I would always live in a mess, never get to move to my hometown, never get a new job, stuck in this misery. And I think the real cause of all this negativity is the fact that my annual leave is over and it's back to work tomorrow
I do feel a bit better now. Only 2 days to work before the weekend so that's good. And next week is my last 5 day week of the year. :T

Thought I'd better show me face
After my last post, things went rapidly downhill mood wise. A couple of bad days at work pushed me right over and I had a bit of a meltdown, crying for an hour while with the work counsellor, feeling like just running away and giving up and moving to the seaside. But then everytime the thought of giving up pops in my head, a voice shouts, No! Don't give up now!! You're nearly there! Except I'm not as near as I need to be. My master plan might have to change slightly but I'm still working through it in my head so I'll post about that another time.
I've still be doing surveys and mse activities despite not posting........

The house works are progressing nicely too:
• Landing floor fixed today. He's quoting me for the bathroom floor fix in case bathroom guy can't do it
• Hall, stairs and landing likely decorated just after Christmas, about £625. Shouldn't need paint or other supplies
• Electrician is getting me a price for the bathroom lights replacement
• Bathroom guy has sent a quote (£180 for fitting the taps and screen, bath panel, silicon and general tidy up), I need to confirm yet and then buy new taps (£70?) and shower screen (£50), plus get the cost of replacing part of the floor if he's willing to do it
• Waiting to hear from the garden guy
All that's left to do in the house then is get the bathroom decorated, new flooring and a blind, and a stair and landing carpet. And a bit more decluttering :rotfl: I also need to get the kick boards sorted in the kitchen ideally, but that's a minor job. I'm aiming to get an estate round in January to give me an idea of value and also to advise if anything else needs doing, although with the amount of work that I've done, I'll be surprised and annoyed if they do

I'd say you're going above and beyond in decorating before you sell! Should make it a very attractive purchase to the right person. All the best.0

Thanks lcc. I hope it sells quickly after all this effort! I did wonder if I should be wasting money on doing things but I've started it now and I need to finish!ChicaBonita wrote: »Hey Ena, sorry to hear about your mini-meltdown, I'm exactly where you are atm after a really sh**** week at work, hope you're feeling better now! Well that's it, I finished work yesterday and don't return until next year
I didn't really have the euphoric feeling when I finished at lunchtime cause all I could think about was having to go back in January  Hopefully I'll be able to relax over the weekend and enjoy not being at or thinking about work otherwise I'm going to ruin my break.
