Hey Orange Ena,
I watched the programme too. I thought they were very lucky people. Both of the girls had expensive flats one paid for and the other had no visible means of income to pay for her rent or mortgage whilst pursuing her start-up. That aside I liked that so much social media went and when they took all that stuff to homeless people.
I'm starting to see the less I have the better I feel but I still have a fear of needing stuff in the future but not being able to buy it, but that's just faulty thinking.:o

Hi, just read all through your diary and wanted to say congratulations. You really have a great fix on this, despite life's ups and downs, you're getting there and you seem to find motivation which is brilliant.
Congratulations on the kitten - we got one a year ago so she's now a little cat - after our first cat had to be PTS (she was 19). I can totally understand that. I think I'll keep hold of this and that just incase, and it'll save money by not buying it again. But then if I don't need it now, it's not really a vital part of my life. It's harder with irreplaceable sentimental items.
We'll keep chipping away at it, one random unused object at a time :rotfl:

Hi joey, thanks for dropping by and reading my ramblings
Ah that's very kind, I am on a mission to get this paid, I can't drift away now so got to keep plugging away.
Sorry to hear about your first cat, it's so sad when they have to leave. I don't even want to think about itCongratulations on your new cat too. My cats are still play fighting but every so often they'll both be on the sofa, quite near each other sleeping. I'm not expecting them to ever snuggle but I hope when the kitten is a bit older, he'll stop chasing my older cat, poor thing is exhausted running up the stairs and sleeping with one eye open

I've been doing a few things around the home lately and it feels good to be tackling things, its a never ending job though! My dad has also been round put up a mirror, change a light switch and put up my swanky new house sign. I got a new front door 3 years ago and didn't bother getting a number put on it so whenever I have deliveries, I'm relying on people to look at my neighbours numbers and work it out :rotfl:
I've been a bit mopey again and I'm starting to feel a bit impatient. I've only been properly mse-ing for just over a year and I'm aware that people often have a lot longer slog, but I just want it over now. I feel like I've learnt my lesson and I just want it gone, and to never get into this sorry mess again.
I still need to get stuff done around the house, and pay off my CC and save. But I can't do it all quick enough. I'm getting beyond desperate to leave my job but sensible head says, woah, lady, calm down, you can't leave yet. I'm going round in circles in my head, having little arguments with myself about what to do. For example, I think, maybe I could borrow £5k on the mortgage to get the rest of my house finished, but that means higher mortgage payments which may be difficult to manage if I leave my job, but then if I want to sell, I won't have as much equity which may limit me, but then if I leave my job, I might not be able to borrow extra and I probably won't earn as much meaning it'll take years to finish my house off. I know it could work out cheaper to use a 0% purchases card or balance transfer card to get my house sorted but the thought of increasing my CC debt is so not appealing to me.
So I just bumble along, making little steps up that great big bl00dy mountain that I've got to climb to get to where I want to be, conscious that my life is running away from me and I'm utterly miserable.
I know any future jobs won't be as well paid, so I've got to live on less and that worries me. Can I do it? Can I run a car? Can I pay the mortgage? All I know is that I've got to leave this job before I have a complete meltdown......but I don't know what to do for the best.
I need a lodger, but the bathroom needs doing so maybe I can just get that done on the CC, then use lodger money to pay that off and save to get the rest of my house done. Either way, my house needs finishing off before I can sell it, I just don't want to get trapped with a less well paid job and no savings to finish it off and a CC still to pay.
I just want someone to tell me what to do because I've over thought it and I'm totally confused.
In the meantime, I'll keep chipping away at it, and try not hand my notice in ;)Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

Hi Ena,
I love being bossy, I'll tell you what to do!
1. Get a notebook/spreadsheet/pintrest board and price up all of the jobs you want done about the house. Make a proper project plan.
2. Have a look at Kon Marie stuff and keep sorting the house out. Sell what you can (of course!)
3. Price up how much you will earn as a minimum in your new job/career
4. Work out how long you will need to have the lodger for to finish off the debt and earn the cost of home improvement project
5. Spend a few bob on mini improvements to tide you over- tin of paint/new towels etc.
Why would you do the place up before getting the lodger? They might mess it up! :rotfl:Jan 20 - NST challenge
